How boring will Salt Lake City be?

Recommended Posts

If you are downtown and need some decent food and tasty brews and wouldn't mind oggling and or playing pool or darts with some hotties........try the "Port O Call." It'll cost ya $5 to get in for a night or you can buy a 6 month "membership" for $15. (Crazy Utah Liquor laws) I have a member card in my wallet. Just be careful though......I could have lost my job over that place once. Something about 6 hot chicks, a crazy night, and 230AM. :S :D

Do you fish?If so the provo river has some of the best Trout fishing anywhere and there isn't much pressure on the river at the time. It is really COLD but your a canuck so I am sure you can handle it;)

Skydive Ogden will be open for regular jumping again in march (shutting down for winter the 19th) but for us diehards they have a list to call if there happens to be a nice day and Brian wants to fly.Skydive Salt Lake jumps year round from what i here.

Park City is a nice place to visit and if you have loads of cash to spend they will be happy to help you spend it....

As for all the nonsense the others have been saying...well its complete nonsense..ignorance and bigotry no matter what form it takes is still the nonsense..

You will have as good as time as you choose to have.Utah is an amazing visual/physical/spiritual experiance if you so choose....

MAKE EVERY DAY COUNT

The Dead Goat Saloon is good for live music and is downtown at 119 South West Temple St. The Cotton Bottom Club, kind of a "beer joint" out by Cottonwood Canyon. makes great garlic burgers. Go with someone you love or someone who has lost all olfactory senses. If nothing else, blow off your meetings and go snow boarding.

Lots of great micro-brew pubs!
Try Trolley Square and one right around the corner from "Port-O-Call", I can't remember the name.
Also drive up to Park City it is very cool and only about 30min away. Try the Wasatch Brew Pub at the top of Main Street, or the No Name Saloon.

I'm a Utah transplant to Texas. There is plenty of stuff to do in SLC. Someone already mentioned the Cotton Bottom and Garlic Burgers. Check out Junior's (hole in the wall Irish pub / blues joint), the Dead Goat, Brewvies (bar / pizza / movie theatre). If you like the outdoors, you have the ski resorts, all Southern Utah attractions (Canyonlands / Zions Ntl. Park).

All beer puchased in grocery stores or convenience stores is 3.2% alcohol. You can purchase regular beer at state owned liquor stores which are closed on Sundays and most holidays. You cannot buy kegs.

Bars cannot serve liquor unless they are "private clubs". You either have to buy a membership or get someone to sponsor you. In other words, " hey man, I'll buy you a beer if you sponsor me". Lots of good brew pub type places. Squatters, Red Rock.

What's up Wingnut.
