AggieDave 6 #1 December 6, 2004 USC vs OU in the Orange Bowl. I have stated time and time again that the Big 12 is the hardest confrence in NCAA football, but teams from the little/easy confrences keep getting to go to various bowls and championships....this game should show my point. Also, I kinda feel like the BCS fiddled with the numbers to make the bowls reflect what people wanted to see and now what truely would have happened if they let the system decide. They're trying to save their ass and not be disbanned for a better playoff system.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Frenchy68 0 #5 December 6, 2004 USC will blow the game open by half time. The Sooners will come back somewhat in the 2nd half, at least making it semi-interesting. Slappie 9 #6 December 6, 2004 The day of reconing is upon USC they will falter when the time comes because the Big12 is going to smack their pansy ass tutu wearing players back to California where they belong. USC Welcome to Semi-Pro ball my boys!! Texas Longhorns for the win in the Sugar Bowl, poor Michigan isn't going to have a chance. It's so going to be a slaughter. A&M should have gotten the "Blue Star Ointment" bolw but oh well. I guess they deserve the Cotton Bowl. At least no one will see it, it's broadcast at 11am on New Years day. I know I'll still be sleeping off the effects of New Years even when it comes on TV. [smack talk] What world do you live in? You have to be kidding me! The Sooners are going to take the pigskin and shove it so far up USC's collective ass, they're going to want to throw in a white towel by the end of the 3rd quarter. Slappie 9 #13 December 6, 2004 03 you're just jaded because you've supported a losing cause for so long. Just accept it. You know you wanted to be a Longhorn. You just settled on Horn Frogs because you couldn't handle UT. They're also an unbeaten team, so is this going to be another 2003 all over again. Where whoever wins the OU - USC battle, they'll have to share the title with Auburn? God I hope not! lawrocket 3 #18 December 6, 2004 QuoteBCS fiddled with the numbers to make the bowls reflect what people wanted to see Shit. If that was then we'd see Utah v. Auburn. We'd see Cal v. VT. Instead, we get Pittburgh v. Utah and Texas v. Michigan. Texas, who sat on it's ass this past weekend and jumps over a team that went on the road to Mississippi and won. A California team with its sole loss being a six point defeat to USC on the road. Texas? THey got shut out at Oklahoma. SHUT OUT. Boise State? Well, some respect for their undefeated year. But I cannot figure out Pittsburgh in the Rose Bowl over Cal. This sort of crap is the reason why I favor NFL over college. I'll bet that if this system were the NFL, you'd have: 1) Orange Bowl - New England (11-1) and Philly (11-1) (to Pittsburgh's protest) 2) Sugar Bowl - Pittsburgh (11-1) v. Green Bay (7-5) 3) Fiesta Bowl - Atlanta (9-1) v. Chargers (9-3) 4) Rose Bowl - Indy (9-3) v. Seattle (6-5) Sure, a marquee matchup at the top, but plenty of injustice in it. AggieDave 6 #19 December 6, 2004 I can't stand NFL ball due to the players and motivations of the fans and teams. College ball has so much more heart in it, in the players, in the fans everyone involved has more heart. It gives the game flavor and excitement. The NFL. Why do you support, lets say, the Cowboys? Jerry Jones? God I hope not, that guy is an asshole. The players? Naw, the only one worth a shit as a person is Dat Nguyen, never mind he's a badass football player. Because its near your home town? Bah, not a good reason really. Take the Aggies, now. Embodied in every football game there is so much more then just football. At Kyle Field 55 American flags fly, one for each of the 55 Aggies that died in WWI. The student body stands the entire game (except during the other team's halftime show) in the tradition of the 12th man. In 1922 at the Dixie Classic (what grew to become the cotton bowl) E. King Gill was called from the stands to suit up due to injuries sustained by the Aggies. So from that point on the student body stood to show support and willingness to support. Outside of the game are all of the traditions and history of A&M involved. The 17,000 Aggies that served in WWII, the 9 medal of honor winners, the 55 Aggies who were general officers in WWII, all the Aggies that served in war from the Spanish American War to current day in Iraq and Afganastan. Then there's Muster on April 21st (the anniversery of the battle of San Jacinto) to remember all the Aggies (current student or former student) who died during the previous year. Silver Taps, the Corps of Cadets...the list could go on. Now lets look at the Cowboys, what sort of traditions do they have giving heart to the game and fans? Extreme drug use. Wow, I guess the NFL truely is better.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
lawrocket 3 #20 December 6, 2004 QuoteUSC Welcome to Semi-Pro ball my boys!! Note that I hate USC, but I must say - "Oklahoma, welcome to pro ball." USC runs a pro offense. Oklahoma's got a pretty good defense, except their secondary, which does not bode well for a USC's pro offense. Still, it's a tough thing for USC to face OK's rush with their suspect rush defense. I'll be watching it. My wife is hotter than your wife.

AggieDave 6 #22 December 6, 2004 If you think I'm an OU "fan" then you're smoking something even stronger. For a long while now, the teams in the Big 12 have been the powerhouse in the country. Not always the same teams (and Baylor excluded, although they get lucky every once in a while), the Big 12 has been a powerhouse. They have been screwed due to the BCS for a long while, though. A good number of VERY strong teams in the same confrence, only one moves on, letting other much less worthy teams in other confrences go to bowl games.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." BillyVance 35 #23 December 6, 2004 Quote I was really surprised at what a hard time USC had with UCLA that has non D! USC-22.5 NOT! Big rivalries have a way of making games closer than they should be. Look at Auburn-Alabama. Bama shut Auburn out in the 1st half with their #2 ranked D, before Auburn came back to win 21-13. Not to mention Bama was already undermanned and beat-up. It's tough to win in the SEC top to bottom, period. Auburn managed to go a perfect 9-0 this year in the SEC, first since Tennessee in 1998. Tennessee won the national championship that year. Florida was the previous team to go 9-0 in 1996, they also won the national title. Go a little further back and you got Alabama in 1992 with a 13-0 and 9-0 league mark and the national title. And uh... oh yeah, LSU beat the Sooners for the national title last year too. I'm not going to say that Auburn deserves to play for the national championship, because USC and OU were already #1 and #2. All three deserve to play for it, and it just doesn't work that way... It's a damn shame anyhow. Hmmm, Tennessee vs Texas A&M in the Cotton Bowl, and I still haven't made up my mind who I want to win. Which coach do I hate the most - Franchione or Fulmer? Nope, it's a no-brainer... GIG 'EM AGGIES! I just want Tennessee and Fulmer to rot in hell! MrJones 0 #25 December 6, 2004 Come on.......check your stats for the year. Take your best of the Big twelve THIS YEAR and put them against the SEC( Auburn, Florida, Tenn, Alabama) I am not denying that the 12 has had a presence...just not this year. I would put the Big 10 ahead of the 12 this year. NUR ZUM SPASS
