smiles 0 #1 December 7, 2004 I listened to a song sung by Natalie Merchant 4 days ago....and can't get it out of my head. Even when I wake up it is there!! The funny thing is I didn't know the lyrics and when I looked them up found I was singing "The Gulf of R&B" instead of "The Gulf of Araby"Anyway, when a song is stuck in your head and you sit down and actually read the lyrics so you know what is being said, ...or in this case, you think you know what is being said........... When doing google search for "Gulf of Araby" all I get is reference to Natalie Merchant. Looking up "Araby" get reference to author of story written called "Araby"....turn to the dic and find Araby means n. obs. poet. Arabia. Natalie says "the lyrics of the song became her prayer and plea for sanity, justice and peace in the world.
