bertusgeert 1 #1 December 9, 2004 Ok, I am not technologically very clued in...and recently found out about these. They would be very useful to carry around and save my documents on, since I dont have a computer and make use of various university computers around campus. I could also save some cool games and videos on there right?! My brother is telling me to buy a good brand but how the hell do I know brands? I dont. and i have no clue what size to get either. What do you think about this one? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=85523&Sku=L61-3444 --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei! chaoskitty 0 #2 December 9, 2004 Its called a Jump Drive... I have one and use it all the time. I travel for work, half the time I'm using my notebook and the other half I'm on a computer at my client's site. I'm sure one of these days I'll leave it somewhere, but so far so good! Thats the same brand as mine.. and thats a kick ass price for 512MB!

I have been using DZ.com, but that is really not efficient or very big at all. I like the idea odf a MASSIVE disk on my keyring... --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!

quade 4 #7 December 9, 2004 They are way cool. I have 2 San Disc micro drives that I use on a regular basis. I -used- to have to burn CD-Roms to sneaker-net stuff around, but these are -way- faster than burning a CD-Rom. Bigger and faster is better. Not all machines can take advantage of USB 2 though so don't be surprized when your transfers are bogged down. Also, don't actually wear it around your neck like some kinda jewelery. You'll just look like a geek. Because they are -so- small, it is handy to have something attached to them so you don't lose them. The dark colored lanyards won't remind you too much about leaving it in a computer, but a bright pull-up cord works pretty well. Oh, also, some windows machines seem to have issues in actually shutting them down sometimes. I don't know why, other than the obvious answer, "Windows is retarded".quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
Zenister 0 #8 December 9, 2004 your not going to get many games or videos on them at 512 megs.. and if you dont stop them correcty some of the older ones like to drop data.. also be careful what you put on them.. these things are going to get the military in ALOT of trouble as people dont realize once you plug it into a classified machine it is now classified as well... and so is every machine you plug it into from then on... and of course if you happen to lose it with some pictures of you in compromising positions who ever finds it will make fun of you forever.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. Ron 10 #9 December 9, 2004 They are great. Use it for work and school. I have found very few computers that don't have a USB port. Holds more than a disk. Easier to access than a CD and smaller."No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers,

I stole one to save my paper, and the one behind it said "pictures" on the label. So what do you think I did? She was pretty hot, so I decided to put a message on one of the labels and then stick it on the case, saying... Hey, I stole you disk...thanks....followed by... WHOA!!...if that is you in the picture, give me a call! 859 555 5555. So I got a call two days later, and I'm goin on a date with some hot Jordanian girl tommorow... Anhyhow, what do you all think of the $47 dollar price tag? And all the uni computers are Dell with a usb port up in the front. --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!
