ltdiver 3 #5 December 14, 2004 Yeah. Try working in a hospital where not only the workers come in ill, the out-patient patients think they need to too! Sick time was made for you to stay home and get well! Not make everyone else sick! Can you tell this is one of my pet peeves? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
tigra 0 #6 December 14, 2004 Hey I hear you, but I also know I've been guilty of coming in to work when I shouldn't. I literally have to be half dead before I call in sick! Unless the cough and runny nose are accompanied by a high fever, I'll be at my desk! If I take off, either my work doesn't get done, or one of my co-workers gets hosed with extra work when they're already seriously overloaded!
monkey1031 0 #7 December 14, 2004 Lysol isn't good enough. When I worked in offices (up until a week ago) I'd fill a spray bottle with 70% Rubbing Alcohol and 30% water and keep it on my desk. Walk into office. Take off coat. Spray EVERYTHING and wipe it. Phone mouse keyboard drawer handles EVERYTHING!!!! Then about twice a day, I'd spray down a couple paper towels, and when I'd make faxes, or copies, I'd wipe down that stuff too. http://www.careerjournal.com/myc/officelife/20020531-cubicle.html icky. wildcard451 0 #10 December 14, 2004 Better solution for you. Lock yourself in your house, use plexiglass and duct tape to seal yourself inside, and nothing will ever get in to harm you. Seriously, just a little bit overboard, dontcha think?

Douva 0 #12 December 14, 2004 This pisses me off more than just about anything (even Christmas shoppers), and I generally don't hesitate to tell the sick person how stupid and inconsiderate I think his or her behavior is. What pisses me off even more are employers and school officials who encourage people to come to work and school when they're sick. I remember getting really irked at officials in high school because they put so much emphasis on "perfect attendance." By all means, create a flu epidemic so that your school can have an impressive attendance record. Employees that refuse to use their sick days are just as bad. I don't feel like spending two weeks in bed so that you have enough SICK days to take a long weekend in Vegas in the spring. I encourage people to speak up when they see this type of inconsiderate behavior. Rather than facing ridicule for missing work or school, things should be the other way around. Sick people should be reluctant to come to work or school sick, for fear of facing scorn and ridicule.I don't have an M.D. or a law degree. I have bachelor's in kicking ass and taking names. Deuce 1 #13 December 14, 2004 You are so pathetic. Don't think that laying the groundwork with this nonsense about being exposed to some weak Canadian virus is going to get you off the hook from skydiving. Remster 30 #14 December 14, 2004 Oh STFU deucey poo.... I can see it now "Oh.. I'll just do video for the record.. sabr190 0 #20 December 14, 2004 About a four weeks ago I got a nasty case of the flu, 103 temp, hacking cough, runny nose, you name the sympyoms and I had them. The owner comes in and asks why I am at work? So, I told him he was too cheap to give more than two days a year sick leave, so here I am. One week later he changed the policy to 5 days a year, that you can roll-over if not used.Good things can come from making everyone else sick, which is what ultimately happened "The needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few, or the one" - rehmwa
Muenkel 0 #21 December 15, 2004 Sick people should stay home if they are blowing chunks and stuff. However...Most people are contagious prior to the full blown symptoms. So if they waited till they really felt like shit to stay home, they have probably already exposed you to it. Also, the more you are exposed to various viruses and bacteria, the stronger your immune system becomes. It sucks, but that's how it works. Unstable 9 #22 December 15, 2004 Hmmm, I almost can't remember what it's like to be sick. Last Time I actually felt bad enough to miss work or school was back in Sept 2000. I've taken PLENTY of "sick" days off from work, but I never seem to come down with anything. I think I'm just lucky...=========Shaun ==========
