Cajundude 0 #1 December 16, 2004 I just lost my etrex legend and am going to purchase another but am also looking at the legend C. Any comments? I use it for jet skiing to take speed readings and every now and then in the car. Is the color one worth the extra money?
billvon 3,118 #2 December 16, 2004 I'd get one that: -can hold a decent database -can track and set waypoints (most can) -can output NMEA via serial or USB so you can use it with a PC
PhillyKev 0 #3 December 16, 2004 considering his stated use, I'd suggest waterproof as well

One has 8mb and one has 24mb and color but twice the money.

I snaged a Rino 120 that retails for $249 for $133 as an Xmas gift for my dad.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

Deuce 1 #9 December 16, 2004 I have a GPS V that I use all the time. I'd replace it with the new color version that has the ton of memory in it. If I load the street level detail, for address mapping, I can only have one state region in it at a time, the new one holds several states worth. LouDiamond 1 #11 December 16, 2004 I have used a GPS once or twice and unless you can honestly say you need a color display to do the tasks you want then the standard model is perfectly fine."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
