AggieDave 6 #1 December 16, 2004 A friend of mine, he was one of my seniors when I was a fish in the Corps of Cadets, dropped dead of a heart attack on Tuesday morning. Kinda strange, he was 28 years old. Although he was fairly overweight, he was even overweight when he was in the Corps (well, he was his senior year atleast) and he had a habit of drinking very heavily, even though he was in seminary now. And he even had a history of heart trouble in the past few years. Still strange that young, though. Well, he's home with his Lord now, so I'm sure all is well.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

Evelyn 0 #4 December 16, 2004 So sorry for your loss. A friend of mine died of a heart attack last year and we were all really sad that he died so young at 50. Can't imagine someone dying of a heart attack at 28. That really sucks! Life is either a daring adventure or nothing ~ Helen Keller

Muenkel 0 #6 December 16, 2004 Dave, my sympathies for your loss. I too had a friend die of a heart attack at an early age. He was 15! It turned out he had an undetected birth defect in his heart. I'll keep your friend in my prayers. Hang in there, Chris _________________________________________ Chris

I'm twice as old as he was damn . The guy missed a lot but you'll meet him on the other sideHope I Don't have to meet everybody on the other side probably not there's lots of people thereBut there's so much time Weird hope I get there before youRobert

I'm sorry not only for Dave but for you as well! I keep wondering why I've been -- and for how long I'll be -- so lucky as to not even have friends get severely hurt at skydiving, let alone killed. So many people write here about having held friends as they died of skydiving injuries. That blows my mind, and the more so because I have not had to suffer that. Granted, I've been at it only a year and a third, but still! I consider myself very lucky. Dave, my condolences. -Jeffrey-Jeffrey "With tha thoughts of a militant mind... riggerrob 644 #14 December 16, 2004 Nearly lost two close relative within the past year. My older brother (age 48) just had an artificial aorta and valve installed. This time last year my Dad had a quadruple bypass. Both were over-weight after their teens.

AggieDave 6 #16 December 17, 2004 Yeah, I've known a good handful of people who have died in this sport and in other areas of my life. Its just a way of life now, as bummer as that is. Well, if I drop dead of something random, I hope everyone throws a HUGE party for me finally being out of their hair (and into their homes to haunt them). If people aren't throwing a party I'm gonna be one pissed off ghost.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
