billvon 3,100 #1 December 17, 2004 Anyone else going to the consumer electronics show in Vegas next month? I'll be there for two days, looking for dual-DIN ARM based automotive displays for work. Should be quite the spectacle - all the new consumer electronics stuff from major manufacturers.

quade 4 #6 December 17, 2004 I lothe CES. Makes my head hurt to see so much crap product just to see the one or two really cool things and then you can't even really get near the cool things because there are a bajillion other geeks also there. Also, I'm highly tainted from years of dealing with broadcast products that actually work, so when I see some consumer products, it actually hurts my eyes to look at them.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

"Consumer" Electronics Show...maybe it should be "Biomass Electronics Show"...or just Biomass Show...BS for short... Besides, who would go there just to see the latest techno-crap when there's so much more fun to be had? mh ."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat." ltdiver 3 #14 December 18, 2004 Quotethere are a bajillion other geeks also there. Doesn't that in itself make it fun? I mean, like skydivers sitting around the campfire after jumps (i.e. after knowing all that is out there in the computer world) and swapping ideas and stories together? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

kbordson 8 #16 December 18, 2004 Or... if you're not into the electronics/geek type show, you could wait a few weeks and go to the SHOT show (shooting, hunting, outdoor trade show) I would be willing to bet that they have the cooler toys....
