Deuce 1 #1 December 21, 2004 I avoid driving through LA like the plague, or plaque for that matter. I take 5 south to Newman and cross over to Merced, 99 South to Bakersfield, then 58 West to I-40 to Needles. Then I-95 South to Blythe and then 10 East all the way through Phoenix and down to Eloy. Takes about 12 hours at speeds that won't get you pulled over. I had a couple people axe me, so that's the way that I go. This years its OAK to PHX and a Jimmy-ride to the Eloy, about 70 short flights without landings and road tripping back. I vaguely remembered how we got there last year, and what I did remember is not to go through LA. This really helps, since I don't have a dashboard toy that tells me what works best Iwan
 wingnut 0 #3 December 21, 2004 QuoteTakes about 12 hours at speeds that won't get you pulled over damn, it takes me 12 hours from over here inutah and all i have to do is go down i-15 to vegas, cut up to boulder city and then down and over to phoenix and contine on i-10..... my trip is just over 800 miles.. how long is your 12 hour drive??? ______________________________________ "i have no reader's digest version"
 lawrocket 3 #4 December 21, 2004 Hey, dog. Taking 99 through all the small towns from Chowchilla to Bakersfield is alot slower IMO and the road on 99 is shit. The traffic flow is better than the 5, since it is often at three lanes, and you don't have as many issues with slow trucks interfering with the flow of traffic. My wife is hotter than your wife. Ed, mostly I like 99 from Merced down because there's more to look at. If I'm in a hurry I'll take the 5 down to the Bakersfield cutoff like you said. Getting pulled over is a pain, so I usually don't go much more than 10 over the limit. For those of you that don't understand Deucebonics, JP is flying from Oakland to Phoenix, fellow videographer Jim Gold is picking him up at the airport and taking him to the dropzone in eloy where he expects to make about 70 skydives. He will then ride back to northern california with Jim. Also.. axe in the above post means ask... chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking..
