Viking 0 #1 December 21, 2004 http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/4113663.stm Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is finished!!!!!! My g/f thought it was funny for me to love these books so much. Until I started reading them to her over the phone (she lives 2000 miles away). Now she is as hooked as I am. We are chapter 14 of Chamber of Secrets. Stumpy 284 #4 December 21, 2004 I liked Harry Potter until I read "His Dark Materials" books and thety were soooooo much better!! I think the Harry Potter film also ruined the books for me - imagination is frequently better than celluloid!Never try to eat more than you can lift
katzurki 0 #5 December 21, 2004 Now all I need to be happy is Glen Cook carrying on The Black Company. Although my fascination with HP ended after the intense involvement with the translation of 1st, 2nd, and 4th books. Perhaps if he went skydiving, I would reconsider

AggieDave 6 #8 December 21, 2004 Oh HELL YEAH!!!! I love these books. Hopefully this will be a lengthy book like the last one. I hate short books like that, you just get into them and poof, they're over. So I've now got a book release to look forward too.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

jakee 1,596 #14 December 21, 2004 QuoteI liked Harry Potter until I read "His Dark Materials" books and thety were soooooo much better!! I so agree there. His Dark Materials is just so much more powerful than Harry Potter, its like an entire moral philosophy and world commentary, (as well as being incredibly well written) while Harry Potter is just a story. (I'll still be reading the new book though) You might not like the news about the planned film trilogy thoughDo you want to have an ideagasm?

Muenkel 0 #24 December 22, 2004 I saw this on the news today and was just as psyched as you. I was fortunate enough to be in London on Opening Weekend of 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone'. It was cool being the one with the accent in the theatre. For those who don't wish to stand on line for the new book, do what I did for 'Order of the Phoenix.' Pre-order it from amazon.com. It was in my mailbox the same day the stores released it. Chris _________________________________________ Chris
skykittykat 0 #25 December 22, 2004 There are also adult versions in the UK (by the same authour). I don't know the difference as I just read what was on hand. Like you, I didn't start reading Harry Potter at the beginning - read the first book after the 3rd book had been released and am totally hooked now!
