flyangel2 2 #27 December 22, 2004 QuoteShe was afraid of the crate Oh no! She's already got you figured out. If you don't train her with the crate, you will regret it later. Put a soft blanket in there, and a wind up clock. It might take a few nights, but it will be so worth it in the long run. You will be able to put her in the crate when you have to leave for school, and you'll know that she's safe there. If you leave a puppy to run around and do as they please when you aren't home, you are asking for trouble. Come on now Amber, I know you can do it. Tuff love.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. tigra 0 #28 December 22, 2004 I'm such a wuss I don't think I could EVER leave a cute puppy in a crate! Guess that's another reason I have cats!
 flyangel2 2 #29 December 22, 2004 Crate or kennel training a puppy is the best way to start them out. All three of my dogs love their crates, it's like their save room to go to when they want to get away. Dogs lived in dens years and years ago, they want that same feeling even though we have tried to domesticate them. For some reason the crate training got a bad rap. But if you leave a little puppy to do what they please alone in the house, they will get into trouble. Then the owner comes home and is pissed that the puppy chewed on something or made a mess on the carpet. Crates are also a great way to travel with your pets. If the dogs are use to the crates, they don't have a problem traveling in them.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. Its the best/easiest way for us both in my living situation/going to school etc. It was just easier to skip the crate last night since she was already stressed from all the other things of the day. I tried putting her in the pet taxi w/the door open and putting the whole thing on my bed beside me but eventually she just stayed out of that too and crawled up on my neck.Yeah..I'm a pushover.
