I made it on JFTC 2005!!!!

Kate gave me a wonderful Christmas today of my invite to participate in the next women's world record attempt! :)
This has been one of my skydiving goals for a little over two years (when I first got introduced to the big-way scene.) I've tried to learn as much about big-way flying as I could, and I let myself get thrown in lots of weird slots. I remember reading Bytch's accounts of the last record, seeing it on tv while hanging out in a bar, and wishing I could be a part of it. I'm still in a bit of shock that I will be! I look good in pink.

Also, great timing for the invite! ;) I've already filled in plenty of relatives about how they should donate! (They didn't know what to get my for Christmas anyways, so this is their gift!)

Also, since I'll most likely have more jumps at Perris than I will at any other dropzone next year, does that make it my home dz? :D

Oh, and I also want to thank the many people who helped me out so much, and I hope that I can pass knowledge on as they've done for me. Basically, I want to thank people from the old Skydive Indiana, Bo and Paula, billvon, Mary, Kate, Tony, Dan and Larry, Raider, Softcheck, and I'm sure there's others, but I'm getting tired!

Thank you so much, guys! I'm really excited about it! I can't get this smile off of my face! :D

Now, to end my great day, I'm going to watch "A Christmas Story" for the first time this season, then go to bed where my leg lamp nightlight awaits! B|

You have worked so hard and continue to work hard at achieving youre skydiving goals, and you are a wonderful, talented (so I hear ;)) flyer. Those reasons, along with your positive attitude since you are open to constantly learning, are probably why you were asked to be on the JFTC. Like I told you, you deserve it, Val. :)

There's an even better way to make Perris your home DZ (aka moving to SoCal). B| Well, even if you don't move out here full-time, at least I know that you will be coming out frequently. I'll see you when you come out here in May...congratulations, again, my friend. :)
Sunshine ~ You'd better come out with Val at least once, Sunny girl! I'll even have some twirly cookies waiting. ;)

Cooool!!!!

Congrats, Val!!!

I had a similar reaction when I learnt I was gonna be on the TSR this year and then again on the Perris September sequentials! I could not beleive it. Being trusted in the sky to do things right by people one admires is sweeeeet news.

I plan to be at Perris during the JFTC dates to support a member of my team who has been invited, as well as everyone else. And of course to play in the tunnel and jump with the many friends who are likely to be there supporting and cheering for you.

Merry christmas and congrats again.

Thank you so much, Rosa! :)
:):D

I hope that everyone is enjoying their holidays! I've really enjoyed mine. To top my evening off, on our drive home, we past a house that had a leg lamp in their front window! B|

Thank you so much everyone! It's funny. I didn't start skydiving all that long ago. When I started, I never imagined that I would be on the women's world record. I'm sure that some of my instructors never thought I would be either!

Congrats on your invitation to success.

An invitation to be on the WWR does not necessarily mean you will be on the record breaking event.

No pressure ;)!

So, do I get to be your photographer for next year's calendar?

;)
