Viking 0 #1 January 1, 2005 I'm watching Return of The King right now and they had to leave out a lot of very good stuff out just b/c the movie was already pretty long. I for one would have loved to sit through a 4 hour movie if it ment the story was told even a little bit half assed right. i wish they would do this kind of thing with the harry potter films. They have been fucking those up so much i want to scream.I swear you must have footprints on the back of your helmet - chicagoskydiver My God has a bigger dick than your god -George Carlin
WFFC 1 #2 January 1, 2005 I would. For something that long though, it would be nice if there was a segmented 'end' around the two hour mark followed by a 10-15 minute empty my bladder break. Going into all the LOTRs, I purposely did not get anything to drink. And I know Mar wouldn't make it. She's only good for 150 miles. ----- ~~~Michael
Viking 0 #3 January 1, 2005 ya intermissions like in long stage plays would very cool with me as long as some asshat doesn't steal my seat that I waited a long time to get.I swear you must have footprints on the back of your helmet - chicagoskydiver My God has a bigger dick than your god -George Carlin
Ravan 0 #4 January 1, 2005 For LOTR I would sit though 4 hrs in a theater, and I don't like going out to the movies. An intermission would be nice though to walk out the numb-bum Food, Fornication, Freefall

No big deal if there's an intermission so you can stretch and walk around a bit.
AggieDave 6 #6 January 1, 2005 I wish I could have seen Hamlet in the theaters (Kenneth Braughnm (sp?) version)...that's 4 hours long.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
jumpergirl 0 #7 January 1, 2005 Gone With The Wind is 4 hours long and has an Intermission. One the VHS that's where they stop and you have to put in the second tape. I watched an old movie with Travis' mom last week on TCM and it had an intermission and they showed the whole thing! LOL Yes, I for one, would sit through a 4 hour movie if it was a good movie and told the whole story.
 skycat 0 #8 January 1, 2005 QuoteI would. I think that any movie that is a series of movies(matrix, Star wars, LOTR) that is essentially one big movie cut into pieces, needs to be watched back to back to get the real flavor of the movie. Movies over 3 hours definately need to flow and keep the plot moving otherwise they are painful to sit through."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
 slotperfect 7 #10 January 2, 2005 Epic films of that sort, if done well, and made to be long for a reason, are worth it. I saw Ghandi in 1982, which is 188 minutes long. It had an intermission, which allowed us a bathroom break. The movie was worth the long sit.Arrive Safely John
 racer42 0 #11 January 2, 2005 Many films, some great and some less used to be shown as complete features with intermission. "Lawrence of Arabia" has an overture, intermission and an entre acte. I remember when a movie theatre had just one screen. Some were even Cinemascope and 70mm. With an intermission or two in the theater that would have been fine with me.
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
