Raven IV in a J5

its designed for a raven 2.
I brought my rig which is a j5 and it had a raven 3 in it that was no worries. I think raven 4 is going to be to big though mate. hope this helps.

oh okay then , im the man to talk to. I brought a 265 7 cell canopy and shoved it in the main tray. I had a rigger look at it and he said it was safe. So i would say that a raven 4 that is 249 sqf would fit okay. Dont forget that the raven is a 7 cell which packs smaller than a 9 cell. So i would say that you are okay.

Also consider type of suspension line.
Older Ravens were built with Dacron suspension lines, which significantly increase (15 or 20 percent) pack volume over later Ravens with Spectra suspension lines.

Raven III (3) is 249 square feet, Raven IV is 282, if I'm not mistaken.

Also, the lines are a HUGE factor - Dacron takes up a lot of room, Spectra does not.

my first rig was a J5, with a raven 4 in it with dacron lines its a tight fit, but not so tight as to cause trouble.
