How smart do you have to be to use a pair of scissors?

Recommended Posts

I started my new job as Production Coordinator at a certain skydiving jumpsuit company today.

Having never, ever worked with fabric and having done as little sewing as possible while getting my riggers ticket a few years ago I knew the learning curve was gonna be steep. It is. I learned so much today my head is about to explode.

I "drafted" a pattern - i.e. drew it out from scratch - for a pair of freefly pants from my measurements. Then I cut it out (on paper). Then I cut the fabric. Then I learned to use the overlock machine on some scraps - look Mom, I'm sewing! Tomorrow I get to put them together.

Funniest comment from a coworker - "She's really smart but she doesn't know how to use scissors!" :D

I'm guessing you need about 17 more I.Q. points.

See the goal, set the goal, meet the goal. You can do it ! :)

Careful.... remember poor Joey...

Joey: That's how they do pants! First they go up one side, they move it over, then they go up the other side, they move it back, and then they do the rear. What? Ross, Ross? Would you tell him? Isn't that how they measure pants?
Ross: Yes, yes it is. In prison!
