tigra 0 #2 January 7, 2005 I don't know. Skydive Chicago's former location was right next to I 80 and a plane might have appeared that low as it was landing.

jb092 0 #5 January 7, 2005 At Cross Keys the end of the runway is next to a road and our planes come pretty low also. I assume if you plan with the pilot you could get a good pic like that one. What could possibly go wrong?

eeneR 3 #9 January 7, 2005 Ok is it me...or does it seem just a big friggen odd with how low This Plane is...that the rear landing gear is not fully extended?????? Or am i missing something there....It looks like they havent fully locked down?? Is it just the design of that particular aircraft? She is not a "Dumb Blonde" - She is a "Light-Haired Detour Off The Information Superhighway." eeneR TF#72, FB#4130, Incauto
CrazyIvan 0 #10 January 7, 2005 It might happen, here in NJ, if you drive by Route 78, near Newark Airport sometimes you see something like that.__________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you.

PhreeZone 20 #13 January 7, 2005 The rears have 2 sets of wheels. The rear tires take the impact and the fronts settle down a few tenths of a second later. Then the nose gear lands.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

Look at the 1st picture I posted there's your shadow, as for the fist photo it's either hidden by a car or beyond the frame.

christoofar 0 #19 January 7, 2005 Wow. I've always been impressed by TAP (Portuguese) pilots, they have to land on some of the most oddball runways around. My family got a taste of that when we lived on the Azores. Not to mention they are an awesome airline in terms of CS. I wonder if they still have champagne flights? ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle.

happythoughts 0 #21 January 8, 2005 Looking at the last pic where one jet is landing while another is taking off. The perspective of the photo is from the back, and slightly above, the land a/c. So...who took the pic and how? Who was above and behind the landing a/c with a camera?
PhreeZone 20 #22 January 8, 2005 Thats taken in I think China. Its in that area.... Basically there is a mountian at the one end of the run way so they actually have to fly a curving landing pattern. Lots of famous airline pictures are taken from that hill. All most all the 747 engine strike pictures are from there since the planes don't have wings level yet when they touch down. Not to mention the runway gets fierce Crosswinds so lots of planes land at weird angles there. They closed that airport to move to a brand new custom built airport on a manmade island a few years ago if I remember right.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

Follow the shadow line of the wing on the fusalage and it will lead to the plane shadow. It appears the shadow would be out of frame to the left.
