Staying at Perris

Recommended Posts

Okay, so this is the place where everyone is really honest with me.

What is the IHOP and Bunkhouse really like at Perris? I'll be staying there for over two weeks in May (which means I'll be in CA too long to be able to afford a hotel all by myself.) I know that many dzs offer bunkhouses and team rooms and whatnot that are pretty gross. I'm prissy. I don't like gross. So, what's the real deal with them?

Thanks!

Thank god. I'm particular about things myself. While I'm there to jump and do tunnel with you, we can share a hotel room, if you'd like.

I would NOT recommend the Perris bunkhouse for you. Elsinore's bunkhouse is fine, but NOT Perris' bunkhouse. I think that I've heard decent reviews regarding the IHOP, though.

Honestly, the bunkhouse is not 'gross'.
IHOP has kitchen and ..well..it is a house, so it is better.
The bunkhouse, you'll need a lighted alarm clock, because you there is no windows, easy to oversleep .
You should be able top hack it for a few weeks!

Both are good. The IHOP is nicer. It's hostel style living. You won't be there much anyway!

Okay, I did fine in hostels before... And, darn good point!

I guess the most important thing to me is the showering situation. Are the showers clean and decent? I hate feeling dirty!

There are thre bathrooms in the IHOP. The two i've used before are fine....clean, and plenty of hot water.

PS, I don't want to know ANYTHING about the "peeing" reference above.....B|:P

I've never been to the IHOP, so thanks for the info, 'Chelle. I've seen Perris' bunkhouse...and I could NEVER stay there. (Yikes!)

Val, you're welcome to stay with me on a few days and do non-skydiving things. Also, I will get a room to share with you for a few days, whenever I am in Perris. :)

Woo hoo! Wanna go on the Price Is Right with me???? I want to learn to surf, too. Oh! And I want to try rock climbing! :D I'll probably stay at the IHOP while jumping/tunnelling, though!

Thanks, Rosa! You are too darn cool!

IHOP is fine, especially if you are staying with friends. 4-way room, others larger. Great kitchen, home-style atmosphere, bathrooms are clean, but not spotless. I added a new hot water heater(90gal) last week and a new stovetop is going in Wednesday. Washer and dryer are good, TV& video with lots of movies. Great deal for groups. The bunkhouse is dark!! Bring a little flashlight! Small double bunk (4beds) rooms. Shower down the hall, cleaned every day. The bunkhouse does flood when it rains like it has been doing!
Both are safe and warm, and much better deal and closer to the action than motels.
Since you are coming in May, you might well stay in a tent. It should be real nice and not too hot yet.
Take care and say hay when you get here!

I've never been in the bunk house, but I stayed at the IHOP last year and it was fine. Clean sheets, clean bathrooms, clean kitchen, hot water. When I stayed there though the house was pretty empty. If it is full and people are partying it could be a little noisy, but there are lots of rooms and beds so you could stay in a room further away from the living room if that is a problem.

And the two guys who live there are total sweethearts. They were always willing to play with me in the evening when I had nothing to do  (DZ dice that is - you'll learn it if you stay there :)
