And, even if she succeeded, how could they prove that it was her intentions to do that? And exactly how could they enforce a judgement such as that? Lindsey 0 #3 January 13, 2005 I wonder how in the world this ended up in court, Was she trying to make some kind of political statement, claiming it to be her right to kill herself with her food? Or did someone else act through the courts to make her stop eating so much??? I don't understand that at all.... I see people every day who are killing themselves with their food. lemonjelly 0 #4 January 13, 2005 Edinburgh Council took her to Court and won legal guardianship of herso they could send her to a treatment centre. She apealed, and that was thrown out after a sherrif ruled that her weight ws likely to reach levels which could cause instant death aparently, he said that she could not make rational descisions as regards to food. I quote "There are no lengths to which she would not go to obtain food if she is not prevented" They had the backing of her family though.
