happythoughts 0 #1 January 18, 2005 Today, I was on a load with a woman doing a tandem. Her b/f was with us. When I landed, there was a tarp spread out on the ground and it said "Will You Marry Me?" I landed near it, but, alas, I declined. The tandem master dropped her right on the tarp. Cute, but too cheesy for me. All the chicks came out to watch the landing and got teary-eyed. The guy got on one knee and asked her, then kissed her. (No kiss for the TM though. )
ltdiver 3 #2 January 18, 2005 That happend in Palm Springs a few years back as well. About 8 years ago. Wonder how the happy couple is doing now? Then there was the same account in Snohomish, WA where when the woman landed (she was a very large woman) she jumped up and down and ran to her new fiance', jumped on him to give him a hug and kiss...and prompty broke his leg!! Ah....love... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

(No kiss for the TM though. ) I've seen several "proposals" at Gold Coast via tandems and/or upjumpers in freefall with a sign or on the knee with a ring upon landing..i think it's sweet; a memorable event. It's better than a dude saying "hey we already live together, so why don't we just move to the next step", right? I think that the thoughtful creative proposals go a long way...but that's just me...and as you know, I'm sorta strange _________________________________________

JohnMitchell 16 #9 January 18, 2005 So . . . did she say "Yes"? That could have been a real buzz killer if she said "No, but that's so sweet of you."
ryoder 1,590 #10 January 18, 2005 Now if you had compassion for your fellow man, you would have grabbbed that tarp and ran like hell, before the tandem saw it."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. diablopilot 2 #12 January 18, 2005 Skydance 02': B/F and G/F each on tandems. Under canopy, a banner towing plane begins to circle them, The banner reads "Will you marry me?". She says yes.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I would recommend flat-packing to maximize the coverage of the lettering."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. ladyskydiver 0 #15 January 18, 2005 That's sweet, but romantic, sweet, unusual ways of doing things are always cool. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.
jumper03 0 #16 January 18, 2005 we had a similar proposal last week at SD Az. Both were on the load - the g/f goes first. TM turns her around in the door so she's looking back into the plane, b/f holds up a sign "Will you Marry me?" G/f starts screaming like mad, TM exits. She said yes as soon as they were on the ground. Scars remind us that the past is real
