romantic stuff today

Today, I was on a load with a woman doing a tandem. Her b/f was with us.

When I landed, there was a tarp spread out on the ground and it said "Will You Marry Me?"

I landed near it, but, alas, I declined. ;)

The tandem master dropped her right on the tarp.
Cute, but too cheesy for me. All the chicks came out to watch the landing and got teary-eyed.

The guy got on one knee and asked her, then kissed her. (No kiss for the TM though.:P )

That happend in Palm Springs a few years back as well. About 8 years ago. Wonder how the happy couple is doing now?

Then there was the same account in Snohomish, WA where when the woman landed (she was a very large woman) she jumped up and down and ran to her new fiance', jumped on him to give him a hug and kiss...and prompty broke his leg!! :o

Ah....love...:P

I've seen several "proposals" at Gold Coast via tandems and/or upjumpers in freefall with a sign or on the knee with a ring upon landing..i think it's sweet; a memorable event. It's better than a dude saying "hey we already live together, so why don't we just move to the next step", right? I think that the thoughtful creative proposals go a long way...but that's just me...and as you know, I'm sorta strange:ph34r::S:D

Now if you had compassion for your fellow man, you would have grabbbed that tarp and ran like hell, before the tandem saw it.

If I had thrown my rig down and started packing, would you consider that "tacky"? :)

I would recommend flat-packing to maximize the coverage of the lettering.;)

we had a similar proposal last week at SD Az.
Both were on the load - the g/f goes first. TM turns her around in the door so she's looking back into the plane, b/f holds up a sign "Will you Marry me?"
G/f starts screaming like mad, TM exits. :D:D

She said yes as soon as they were on the ground.
