I'm freezin.It's 0 Degres.F.
and I'm a turn up the furnace kind of guy. But the damn thing is running a lot and costing money.

Do you say fu@k it and crank up the heat , or freeze a little and be thankful you're not homeless ?

Why do I live here ?

Keeping my place at 65F last month cost me $208!! This month it's set to 64F with the plastic wrap around all the windows....and if it gets too cold I have a nice down throw with an electric heater.

We moved into this house in Dec. 79. Our first utility bill was a little over 500 bucks. I spent everypenny I could find on insulation, outlet cover insulaters, water heater blankets etc. I tell my kids, if you are cold, put on a hat. That's what my mountain climbing guide said, and she was right. Save your cash for jumps!

I know everything and all these tips, just whinning and bored. If i had a skybabe to be warm with , i wouldn't even be posting.

No whining or I'll post what to wear so you don't have to run the heater all winter. :P

BTW....my dog is boycotting her bed and sleeping in mine because I've been keeping the thermostat set to 64 so I don't have such a high electric bill.

Personally, I turn up the heat - but that's cuz I'm a "as few clothes as possible" kinda gal. But if you have finacial restrictions then the options given are very reasonable.
Run a steaming hot bath. (remember the lotion after, so you don't dry out your skin too much though)
Having a good down comforter is a must... then you don't have to turn the temp up OR put on clothes. Nothing wrong with cuddling naked under a wonderful cloud of warm. (except when you have to come out of your protective little cocoon... and you freeze bits!)
Also alcohol makes it feel nicer too (I know that the real story is actually the opposite, but just saying how to not FEEL so cold)
Or moving to FL, AZ for warmer climates (or Alaska to make you appreciate how warm you actually have it now!)
Finally, not whining about the cold and working on your game to actually get a skybabe would be another option....

Opie is about 30 miles from here. You're on! Then I would get to see more of Opie, too! What fun!

Just how much of Opie you wanna see? It was written on the bar last year that he has a big dick...:D

Has or IS a big dick? Naw, no matter what , we love Opie! Sounds like it's time for a mid winter video party with breakfast at 3 AM at the Mahlos again. I think Opie came to it last year, if not, he was the only local skydiver who WASN't here.

Anyone wear the one piece long johns with the poop chute in the back? Wjhen we lived in a rental place in KC made it a point to not turn on the heat until turkey day. Kept the mother in law away:)
We've been heating with wood for last seven years sometimes got to open upen the windows to cool off. Eighty is way to hot in the winter time. Got to get a better stove we can control the airflow better.

IMO Eighty is way to hot in the house winter or summer.

R.I.P.

Well, I always have the heat set to 70 degrees through the winter. However, the heat motor went kaput yesterday, and the temp outside went down to 20 degrees, so it got pretty darn cold in the house overnight. I think it got down to about 50 degrees even with one space heater running in our bedroom all night. BRRRR!! So I call the heater man out this morning and it cost me $310 for the new parts and labor...

Oh the joys of being a home-owner! B|

I did that to piss off an old roommate.... She wanted the AC on 60 in the summer and the heat on 80 in the winter. I just had to teach her a lesson.

But the real question is.... Did you get to take that shower WITH anyone? Cuz cold party showers can be quite warming/invigorating too! :)

I've never dated a female who liked ANYTHING cold. (Off to take another cold shower....alone)[:/]

I always thought it was turn up the heat so you could take off the clothes. :$ Oops! My bad. :) Note to self: It's put on more clothes and turn down the heat.

Not saying I LIKE cold showers (I actually prefer them hot enough to scald! Good thing I'm not a dermatologist.)... but when you're in the shower long enough for all the wonderful hot water to be used up and you're still "not done"... ya gotta finish!
But anyway... another way to stay warm -building a fire outside. A big roaring one that can be seen by the space shuttle!

>since most of the heat is lost through your head . . .

That's only because your nose is in your head. Putting a hat on while naked will not keep you warmer than putting warm clothes on without a hat - unless, of course, you stop breathing for as long as you wear the hat.

"not done"? We're not talking about the lathering/rinsing, are we?;)
Sounds like someone needs to install a hot tub, instead of using the shower.:)
