When they imploded the Hacienda hotel at midnight (well really 9PM, but midnight EST, was on FOX competing with the ball dropping in NY). As far as what to do? A million things. On NYE, they close off the whole blvd to traffic and the street is packed with people. The cops set up barricades at each end and you can't carry bottles or cans into that area (although you can walk around with an open container). In fact, the cops were handing out plastic cups. Slappie 9 #3 December 28, 2004 Was in Vegas for NYE in 2001 and went back 3 weeks later for the Superbowl. Was a total wallet wrenching experience! I can't wait to go back. I love that town. As for gambling, I enjoyed the Belagio. Simply because it was more subdued then the others on the strip. I didn't stay at the Belagio I was at Harrahs. Just seemed to me the casino was more "classy" at the Belagio and the noises weren't as over powering. Dunno what to do other then gamble and catch shows.. I was with a group of 15 all over 25yo. Was a chat room get together. We had all chatted with each other for years and decided to all meet.
