ACMESkydiver 0 #1 January 20, 2005 QuoteDo you think that Airbus will sell many more airplanes than the 139 ordered so far? Is there a future for such a large airplane? I read the Airbus 380 thread, and I'm using a lot of the info in there to draw a conclusion, but nobody specifically addressed the possible demand for new orders over and beyond what's already in the works... PLEASE give me some good stuff to work with!! !! (No, I can't send you an actual beer, just an icon of a beer..)~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. SeaKev 0 #2 January 20, 2005 It will be interesting to see how many of those initial orders are delivered. IMHO, the project was dead before the unveiling.
YahooLV 0 #3 January 20, 2005 It will be interesting when the first one goes down. I REALLY hope that doesn't happen, but as we all know, things DO stop flying on occasion. I just hope I'm way off base with that.~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action.

PhreeZone 20 #6 January 20, 2005 IDA?? Idaho Falls? There is NO way they can handel it Lots of Asian runways can handle the thing and I believe thats about the only secotr that will keep buying them. UPS, DHL, FedEx would love to get their hands on them for the International hops... but for the cost they can get a 747 and a 757 to do the same flight and actually come out ahead since they can stagger the flights a bit and get more on the second one.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

britboynz 0 #9 January 20, 2005 There'll be more airports than you think that can handle it. London Heathrow is spending 100 million quid to accomodate it, & is knocking down & rebuilding an entire pier at terminal 3 just for the A380. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3617407.stm Even here in the quiet little backwater that is NZ, Auckland International is preparing for it, spending $25 million widening the runway. QANTAS and Emirates have apparently stated they will be flying A380s into Auckland
