Heading out to California next month.
What is the requirement for USPA membership if you are from overseas? How much is it? Do I need to organise it before travelling to the US?

No you don't need to get it before you go
Yu get a temporary membership valid for a month(assuming you are just visiting?)
It costs $15. but it might have been $25

Although that was for UK jumpers - Australian licenses may vary for this.

If the DZ you are going to requires you to be a USPA member, you can purchase a temporary memebership for a small fee, you can do that at the drop zone here in the states.

If you're going to Perris, take your logbook and go to the School. Speak to the folks there, they're lank helpful.

I arrived with much the same amount of jumps as you have now, we went through my logbook, filled out a licence card and applied for a USPA A licence then and there. it cost about US$20 and you get a Parachutist Subscription for a year.

Temporary Membership

The USPA Temporary Membership Program was established for skydiving students, jumpers visiting from other countries, and jumpers who have let their membership expire and need to join quickly to make jumps where USPA membership is required. Jumpers may apply to become USPA Temporary Members only at USPA Group Member centers.

Temporary Member benefit:

Third-party liability property damage and bodily injury skydiving insurance for one month.

I'm not sure what the cost is - maybe one of our DZOs will pipe up with that answer?
