Quoteyeah yeah, I've heard enough, don't think I'll be calling the guy. I just want to do business w. people who I hear more GOOD things about then bad.
Before you get too hasty, you might want to consider the sources of what you hear. I'm not going to go search for all the threads on dz.com that mention Ralph, but so far, on this thread, detractors have a combined 16 years in sport, and proponents have a combined 94 years in sport. Maybe relevant, maybe not.
Buying gear can be stressfull, especially to a relative newcomer. It's a major expense and it involves your safety. If you want to bounce something off someone, feel free to shoot me a PM. I'll help in any way I can.

Edit: Notice the avatar change? Eyes only...hopefully they won't kill as many threads.

The point is that he's done good, he's done bad just like any businessman. During the Ralph love fest I wanted to state that there are other opinions that aren't scuttlebutt.

Yes thats true......but.....dont you think in Ralphs 40+ years of selling gear he has done a lot more good than bad ? Satisfied a lot more people than he pissed off ?
Just because you had a bad experience doesnt necessarily have to be Ralphs fault. You might have come off to him as an arrogant asshole and he reciprocated.
I bought my first brand new rig from Ralph 23 years ago.....and a half dozen since then. If one calls Ralph, and knows what he/she needs you wont be disappointed.
