So what's to do in Las Vegas?

Recommended Posts

Well, I will be in Vegas for about a week in February. Most likely 2/12 through 2/20. The wife is going for work and her company will pay for me to come visit. God I love her new job.

So what is good to do besides gamble. Can I jump out there? I am not current and I will be working on getting a re-pack before going. Any really great shows I can take Eva to? Any special resturants? We like Sushi and Steaks. And what the hell, where is the best place to gamble?

Thanks in advance.

B

If you like poker check out this link for lots of tips on poker rooms in hotels and difficulty of play. Do a search and you'll find almost every poker room reviewed.

The Steak House inside the Circus Circus hotel is excellent. Be sure to make a reservation.

My g/f and I really enjoyed La Femme inside the MGM Grand. Wasn't expensive ($60 per ticket) and was very classy and artsy.

Have a lot of fun! If you find nothing to do click my attachment (SFW)

The Blue Man Group is a must-see show for Vegas (IMHO)... And I like the ride (the Big Shot) on top of the Stratosphere - it's short but it's FUN (so you have to ride it a few times). ;) I don't gamble much, so I can't help you there... And as for food, hmm... ya know, I've been disappointed with pretty much every restaurant I've eaten at in Vegas... so I can't help you there either. The view from the restaurant on top of the Strato is cool (and it turns 360 degrees), but the food was nothing special.

you need to go to mesquite. It is not far from vegas and realy the only place that will let you fun jump. Besides that they are having a boogie on the 11-13 and I think will have helicopter jumps.

Ah, that's good to know... I'll have to try that the next time I'm there... I like the pink rollercoaster at Circus Circus too. :)

That's good to know too... I've seen that advertised, but have never been...

We only live about 4 hours from Vegas, so we seem to go there quite a bit... It's a fun town.

Oh, and Club Rain (at the Palms Hotel) is a lot of fun too... but you have to be in the "right mood" for that kind of fun. ;) (Thank god that "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas")

Well, if you arent into gambling, there is still lots to do! I only went once, but managed to have fun even if I dont do the "giving my money to LV for charity" lol

Shows:didnt see any, but Blue Man, Ka, O I would recomend no problem. Zumanity (another Cirque du Soleil sho as are Ka and O) is more adult oriented (ie nudity), and it is getting more mixed reviews, I think mostly because it is so different.

The Voodoo lounge on top of the Rio hotel has awsome views. And check out the lounge in the middle of the casino at Rio while you are there (Eva, lets have a drink here 1st... oh, sorry, I didnt realize the waitresses wore thongs);)

walk along the strip... have margaritas...

I'm not a huge Vegas fan,but there is enough to stay entertained! lol

just saw KA last weekend and can highly recommend it (or O, which is still fabulous).

If you're just going to stay on the strip, walking/trams/taxis are your best bet. If you're going out to Hoover Dam or elsewhere a car might make sense, but maybe just for the day that you need it.

Bellagio's Sunday brunch rocks and if you're a total carnivore, hit Samba in the Mirage ... all you can eat Brazilian BBQ.

There is so much to do in LV, even off the strip. If you plan on staying on the strip, there is no need for a car. Skydive Mestique is about an hour north of the strip. Great place to jump with awesome people. If you are venturing off the strip up to jump you should check out the Valley of Fire. It's gorgeous for hiking and even just driving through. Either there or Red Rock Canyon. Both very cool hiking/scenic places if you get tired of the strip thing.

I'm not to sure how much the helicopter ride is, but if you were to drive its about an hour south of the strip to drive. Again another great drive and there is even a big lake down there (i'm totally blanking on the name[:/])

Have fun Vegas is a great place!!!

The steakhouse inside the new york, new york is very good. Sorry, can't recommend any place for good sushi. Also, although the wind tunnel in Vegas isn't as nice as the skyventure style, it is closing its doors this spring. Maybe worth a flight just to say you've been there.
