DanDruff 0 #3 January 23, 2005 On the Bmw websit thier claming 167 hp. I'd have to say it could keep up with most of the liter bikes.
Deuce 1 #4 January 23, 2005 I've got the K1200RS, and the only complaint I have is the weight of the thing, but enjoy two up long distance touring, so it's not that big a deal. The front end is a little heavy compared to a conventional fork suspension, but not at high speed. They really should show more of the amazing anti-lock brakes on the bike. The brake system on that sucker is like a magic trick. I think on that S bike they got almost a hundred pounds off the bike, and put another 30 something horsepower in. Beautiful to ride, handles great, and it's easy to ride all day, as opposed to a Hayabusa. Great ad, though. Thanks for sharing.
vid666 0 #5 January 23, 2005 I got a K1200LTC, my buddy has the RS - awesome bikes. I have to say though, 2 up 500 mi - LT will kick the RS ass. On a windy road on a fun day - I woudl take the RS anytime. I am sure S is even ballsier and more fun..
Deuce 1 #6 January 23, 2005 The LT is just a little too Goldwingish for me. I like to be able to remove all the bags from time to time. The GT is a nice compromise between the two. With the bars all the way back, I have no problem riding the RS from San Francisco to San Diego non stop. I'm sure the LT is much more comfortable, though. Squeak 17 #7 January 23, 2005 That's extremely irresponsible of BMW to promote street racing like that NOICE WorkYou are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing?
mattjw916 2 #8 January 23, 2005 I have a K1200RS too... I just might have to trade it in for an S in a few years. Compared to my other bikes, the RS is a total beast. It's great for long trips though and there aren't many bikes that could replace it in my stable.NSCR-2376, SCR-15080
