Do you watch or do you look away?

Recommended Posts

I prefer to do it myself. I have crappy veins and usually end up a pin cushion, otherwise.

Even if I'm not doing it, I still watch. I don't have the guts to look away from someone coming at me with a sharp object. ;)

Hee hee! Me too! I'm a bit fascinated by my own blood, and I have pale almost-see-through skin over big fat blue veins on my left arm, so even the trainees don't usually have a problem.

Once, though I did encouter an unusually inept nurse-type when I was donating - after the third miss, I asked if I could just do it. No, no, let's make this painful...

you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

I had that happen once...the guy in the bloodmobile missed bad and slid it into my bicep....I damn near came out of the chair.

"Sir, it is suposed to sting a little bit, there is something called an a-n-t-i-c-o-a-g-u-l-a-n-t on the tip of the needle. It'll pass."

"Get this GD needle out of my arm now, and find someone who knows what they are doing."

Worst one ever. That bruise lasted a LONG time.[:/]B|
