ChasingBlueSky 0 #1 January 12, 2005 A week ago it took me nearly four hours to get home as 9.5 inches of snow hit the city. Today it is 65F and we woke up to visibility less than a mile due to the fog from the melting snow (which was gone by lunch time). I drove to work with the windows and sunroof open. It's supposed to snow again tomorrow. Saturday it will be about 10F during the day with lows near 0F. Very odd._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again..... nathaniel 0 #2 January 12, 2005 Increasingly wide temperature swings are part of the predictions of global warming. Should be a fun ride. nathanielMy advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?
flyangel2 2 #3 January 12, 2005 I woke up to about a foot of snow here. Took me an hour to get to work, which most times it only takes me about 20 mins. The drive home from work today was back to my normal 20 mins. since all the snow has melted already.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. jumpinfarmer 0 #8 January 13, 2005 Soft spots, hell we've got open water from shore to shore. Last year by this time I had put almost 500mi. on the sled.
happythoughts 0 #9 January 13, 2005 Yesterday, a guy in a black, hairy gorilla suit did a tandem with a Finnish girl in a one-piece pink bathing suit. No pics, but the landing was quite funny looking. It is still cool enough to drive with open windows and no air-conditioning.
SkymonkeyONE 4 #10 January 13, 2005 It's supposed to drop down into the 20's here in Fayetteville/Raeford this weekend, but I did a tandem today at two in the afternoon and it was nearly 70 outside; nice. It's been the warmest season on record here. Chuck
kingbunky 3 #11 January 13, 2005 we had -17.5 C (about 0 F) yesterday, today is supposed to get up to 8 C (47 F). tomorrow is supposed to be warmer, then back to the minus double digits by the end of the weekend. it's not a weird as the chinooks around calgary, but it's still weird."Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." ChasingBlueSky 0 #12 January 26, 2005 Looks like this is going to be a trend this year. After it dropped down to subzero temps, it went back up to the low 30s and dropped all that snow (over 13 inches) and was back up to nearly 50F two days later (not wearing a coat was nice). The very next day? Freezing and two more inches of snow. This is the oddest winter I can recall. Is it global warming, el nino or just one of those things?_________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me....
