flyangel2 2 #26 January 26, 2005 QuoteMy youngest child will graduate from high school in 5 years. My plan at that point is simple. I'm going to finally exhale! I thought the same thing when my oldest graduated high school last year. It seems that you have just enough time to take another deep breath before they dive into college. I have one more to see graduate, then my plan is to let them take care of the house and I load up the van and start my year long road trip.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey

Ron 10 #30 January 26, 2005 I have a year, 5 year, and 30 year plans. I make lists of the things I want to do.Here is the big part, once I write it down on a piece of paper I also make the first step in that direction. I use the initial momentum to start the process. One form the one year. I wanted to start flying again. I have a license already...So I though about buying a plane. Decided there was not "perfect plane" so I decided to take Helicopter flight lessons....As soon as I made that choice, I made the call and took my first lesson. Some from the 5 year: I want a house and to transfer in my company to another division. I wanted to go back to school. So I am now back (This ties in below) One from the 30 year: I want to retire well. So I bumped up my 401k to 15% of my salary, and then started buying stocks with another 5%. I wanted to retire from my company with 20-25 years (My company service time for retirement stops at 25 years) So I need to enter another job field in 6-11 years. So I went back to school now to make that easier. Again the most important thing once you decide what to do is to start right then."No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers,
BenHall 0 #31 January 26, 2005 My five year plan pretty much only has two goals: Become an A-10 pilot, and BASE jump with my snowboard.
Snowwhite 0 #32 January 26, 2005 When I was 17 I had a 10 year plan. Buy a house by 25 have a couple of kids, start a business by 27. As it turned out, I bought my first house by 19, had 3 kids by 25, started my first business at 30, so I was close. Then I went on to city council, became the mayor pro tem, and had to have a 5 year, 10 year and 30 year plan that 8 of us could agree on for the city. I highly recommend that everyone have a short term, mid term and long term goal/agenda, WRITTEN DOWN. Stated goals make you stop and think, "what have I done toward my goals today/ this week/ this month/ this year. My current plan is 7 years. Everything but the house paid off, money for retirement doubled from what it is now, and GOOD HEALTH.skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com
Slappie 9 #33 January 26, 2005 Jeez, some of you in this thread make me sick.. I had plans along time ago, then life took over and I lost sight... My plans now are to get to the next paycheck before something else goes wrong or breaks. I do have some plans in my head, nothing concrete or writen down. I'm 37 and own nothing.. retirement is 4% w/company matching 4% into a 401k that has made a total of 1% in 5 years. Who knows, I need to sit down and come up with something... I'm such a slacker when it comes to setting goals. blah to all you successfull people let's all drink some and think about yesterday, not what's coming tomorrow Tomorrow hasn't always been a good thing in my life. BINGO, we have a winner. give the girl a teddy bear Mike didn't think it was that funny but he assures me the boat is bigger "It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING

And if you don't like Zoolander, then you must think you're too cool for school. Well I've got a news flash for you Walter Kronkite........ You aren't.
