LaDonna 0 #1 January 28, 2005 I created these wine bottles for each of my AFF instructors as a thank you for showing me the greatest sport ever. I am going to give them out next weekend after my graduation jump. And of course "beer" as well, I was taught that new hand signal last weekend on the plane when we were getting ready to do AFF7. What do you think? Are these corny or cool? FGF#
soulshine 0 #2 January 28, 2005 QuoteAre these corny or cool? Any gift that involves alcohol is good in my book. I actually think they're kinda cool. Bombing for peace is like fucking for virginity! ~DEVIOUS BEEF~~FGF #69~
windcatcher 0 #3 January 28, 2005 I think they're actually pretty cool, just keep it simple. that's cool you're giving something to your AFF instructors. Even though you hafta pay up the wazoo for the jumps, the smiles, hugs and words of affirmation your instructors give you don't necessarily get "paid" for. Good job Mother to the cutest little thing in the world...
Frenchy68 0 #4 January 28, 2005 Don't pay attention to anything she writes. She's just bitter and jealous, ask my lawyer, he'll tell you! Now, the bottles are kinda keeewwwl, but that's irrelevant. WTF did you put INSIDE them? What kind of wine? That's what really matters. LaDonna 0 #5 January 28, 2005 Cabernet Sauvigan and Chardonnay. I didn't make the wine, only put the skydiver on the outside of the bottle. FGF#
IanHarrop 43 #6 January 28, 2005 I like these and I make my own wine. What did you do for the labels. It doesn't look like they are printed on paper so I am guessing they're printed on clear plastic. Tell me how you did the labels and where you got whatever you printed them on. LaDonna 0 #9 January 28, 2005 No labels, these are etched glass. The image is etched about 1/32" into the bottle and then filled with color. You can have clear labels silkscreened, they just don't go down on the bottle very smooth. It is almost impossible to get rid of all the air bubbles. Is it expensive? Frenchy68 0 #12 January 28, 2005 Quotei've been jumping for 6 years and i don't think i've learned it yet!!!! I'm not sure, but I am guessing it has something to do with getting thrown off the plane while someone is hanging on (while staying inside the plane...) to your cut-away pillow... bodypilot1 0 #13 January 28, 2005 Very cool. I have gotten MANY bottles of wine over the year, but never had a student take the time to etch the bottle. It doesn't really matter what the wine is if it were given to me, as I'd just keep it unopened for keepsake. Hey, how about you head north so I can be one of your Instructors too, so I get one? LaDonna 0 #14 January 28, 2005 When you are shown two arms out like you are carrying a case of beer - "the beer sign". You owe beer. There is a lot of talk about all the reasons to owe beer. Why not have a sign for it! Even if it is something you guys use on the newbies, I thought it was kind of cute and breaks up the nerves a little before you make the next AFF jump. Your profile does say "Roaming Instructor" why not roam south to Perris. FGF#
