Shotgun 1 #27 January 28, 2005 Why do you even care??? I'm pretty far from being a perfect person (and I'm pretty sure there is no one who would consider me to be), but... I've had people act jealous of me before - not very often, but it's happened... And I'm thinking what the hell is wrong with this person? They obviously have some strange delusion that my life is somehow better or easier than their's, for whatever reason, but they must be incapable of looking beyond the surface of things... Anyhow, most likely the people you perceive as "perfect" are actually not... but who knows, maybe some of them are... Even so, why let it have any effect on you??? Don't worry about what other people are doing... Just try to make yourself the person that you want to be, whatever that might entail...
girlygirl 0 #28 January 28, 2005 I am in a profession where my body is my livelihood and I have to look a certain way to be successful at what I do. I have people that get angry at that sometimes because they think it must come easy for me and everything else must be easy too for me. Reality is I workout and train/ practice 6-8 hours a day and have painful injury after injury and have for years. I am in great shape and have a good body but have had cancer several times and recovered and gone through many relationships because men also don't understand the attention I tend to get or the demands on me becasue of my profession. I guess what I mean is, I appear a certain way but inside it is just as hard to be me. People who get to know me find out fast that it's not easy to be me or be my friend. Any book's cover can look great until you read inside and see what is actually on the pages.
soulshine 0 #29 January 28, 2005 Just a responce to all who didn't understand what I was saying in the original post. I don't think I made myself clear, apologies. I don't actually hate these people, I don't envy them, I know that they are not really perfect, and I don't wish death on them...I'm not that harsh. I was venting due to a certain situation at work that upset me and caused a grumpy mood for a good part of the evening. Overall I am very happy with my life. I drive a car that is on it's last leg but it has been good to me. I don't have a home to speak of, I just kinda stay here and there. I do not have a particular style or fashion sense, but I love my overall appearance. I am a bit unconventional in many aspects of my life...but I'm happy that way. However, even with the satisfaction that I have with myself and with my life I still have insecurities, we all do. My original post was meant to be light and not to be taken too seriously. C'mon, who wouldn't want to see Pamela Anderson with a huge booger hanging from her nose? That's funny! VanillaSkyGirl 6 #36 January 28, 2005 QuoteI am in a profession where my body is my livelihood and I have to look a certain way to be successful at what I do Hi Chloe! Your profile says that you are a dance instructor. Honestly, not all dance instructors that I have met are "perfect looking". Many people dance because they have a love/passion for dance, not because they need to keep their bodies a certain way. Personally, I wouldn't care if my dance instructor had a worse body than myself as long as she/he could dance and teach very well, and that has been the case in the past. Quote...and gone through many relationships because men also don't understand the attention I tend to get or the demands on me becasue of my profession. I guess what I mean is, I appear a certain way but inside it is just as hard to be me. People who get to know me find out fast that it's not easy to be me or be my friend. I don't understand why it would not be easy to be your friend, or why it would be difficult for men to date you successfully. Don't underestimate your other qualities, Chloe. Relationships should not be made or broken simply because you get so much attention from men or spend a lot of time training. I've met and worked (as a costumer/designer) with many actresses, models, dancers, whose face and body are quite important. A small few were down-to-earth and happy with their lives and relationships. Many were quite superficial, jealous of others and very unhappy emotionally. I am not saying that you are like that at all, but I have noticed that these actresses/models/dancers' ability to be happy and spread happiness was in no way related to their bodies or to how beautiful that they are. It seems that when people ease up on their high standards of their image, it can afford them more time to work on other areas in their lives. The truly beautiful people are the slightly imperfect ones whose beauty shines from the inside out. Soulshine ~ The scary thing is that someone right now is jealous of you, and someone right now is jealous of that person who is jealous of you...and so on...and so on! What is average for one person is or seems "perfect" to another. Btw, I know people who used to work on Pamela Anderson's VIP show, and she is not someone who anyone should be jealous of... Remster on the other hand...
