DZ.commer angst!!!

Recommended Posts

I have been an avid reader of several topics here on the forums. Mostly go directly to the Wingsuit forum and right here to the Bonfire forum. Occasionally I will merge onto the Incident forum. That is where my angst begins.

I would love to know why everyone that visits these forums believes that they are the expert at everything that goes on. People here are so quick to judge an accident or person. No matter what little information is given, someone KNOWS EXACTLY what happened and has no remorse in offering their opinion about the whole thing.

I had perfect proof of it back when I had my accident with the golf cart. Sure, I messed up, I know what happened, I WAS THERE! I had so many people tell me exactly what happened and what I should have done. I even had one guy with less than 200 jumps tell me that if I would have dragged my feet on the swoop, it would have created more lift on my canopy and I would have been able to avoid an obstacle. That was the best one, by far. ;)

I guess the point that I am trying to make is this. Not everyone knows everything, people that were not in the harness do not know what was going through the pilots head the time of an accident. People that are in California don't always know what happened in Rhode Island! Sure, you can offer advise, but I think that a lot of people, including myself, could use a little lesson in tact!

I noticed that someone on a recent incident topic basically told a person that he screwed up bigtime in a "jumping in high winds incident". When all that happened was AN ACCIDENT!

I noticed a big problem with people failing to believe that ACCIDENTS JUST HAPPEN. They are quick to place blame on SOMEONE so they can feel better about exiting their aircraft that weekend. I think as members of this huge family that we call Skydiving, we can learn a lesson from time to time. Seeing as though this message seems to be directed towards the very thing that I am bitching about, I just thought maybe I could help out a little with this post.

In the immortal words of, umm, I don't know who said it, but, "can't we all just get along?"

I'm sure that bad comments follow, so let me have it. I'm just sick of "Know it alls" on here! People with 75 jumps really don't have a better view of what happened to someone with 2,000 jumps.

Now, FIRE AWAY!!!

I can Assure you that I properly inflated those tires!! I fact I personally checked (With Steves gracious assistance) that there was almost enough clearance to slide 1 Skydiver under that Golf Cart at High Speed!!;)

The Problem was CLEARLY Wing Loading related!! That Golf Cart HAD the proper clearance to insert 1 AVERAGE size Skydiver.

How can I Put this delicately... Steve was uhhh well Loading the canopy a little Heavy (If you get my Drift). Had he laid off the Cheesecake and Beer a little more, He would have fit under my Golf Cart much easier and it would not have been necessary to remove that useless top layer of Skin and Muscle from his thighs in order to stuff Him under there.B|

Seriously Steve, If you want to go for a ride in my golf cart this year, Try getting IN IT, The Under it didn’t look so fun and I had to drive around for days with flesh hanging off the front of it. Do you know hard it is to pick up sky chicks with Rotting Flesh hanging off your Golf Cart?? Have a little courtesy for your fellow skydivers!!;)

Well as a golf cart tire inflation specialist with over 20 years in the trade...I can only hope you will learn from your careless mistake....a true professional golf cart tire inflator would have adjusted the pressures accordlying to allow for the added GIRTH of said swooper thus allowing him to save the excessive skin, flesh and pride lost to that poorly maintained golf cart....

I can only hope that you sir are not viewed by the public as a rep of our fine and very important profession.

:P:P:P;):)

Holy Freakin' Crap, why the hell didn't I think of that sooner. I knew I had too much cheese cake the night before swooping the pond, I am such a freakin' dick.

Thanks for the brew aggie! Needed it! Sorry guys/gals, just venting. Get tired of everyone knowing everything. They should all know that I am the one that knows everything. Geesh!!!! ;)
