Breezejunky 0 #51 January 29, 2005 Wow....it takes a hell of a lot of motivation to hit the gym after working all day. I couldn't do it. One solution to the eating late thing is the gym before work? It's something to get used to if you've never done it that way but for some (like me) it's the only way to go. It starts your day off great and no matter what shit might hit the fan during the day, you've at least done something good for yourself first. You've done well though! cbain 0 #61 January 31, 2005 Hey, I know I'm late but can I join? I started Jan. 04 at 200lb was down to 180lb by Obtober 04 but then I moved and the weather and then the holidays, sigh. I know excuses, excuses. So I ended up starting '05 back at 200lb. I've been working out on my excerise bike about 4-5 times a week for about 3 weeks now and have lost about 3lb. I'm not sure though because my scale doesn't seem to be working right. I'll step on it and get one weight, wait 30 seconds, get on a again and have gained (or lost) up to 3 pounds! I guess I need a new scale. I have no will power when it comes to beer. Christina

mnealtx 0 #65 January 31, 2005 Hey, but you're not gaining anything, right? I'm going back more towards an induction-type diet for a week or two - it's those damned crack cookies at the chowhall that get me!! That and the baklava they had for dessert last night... tigra 0 #66 January 31, 2005 I hear ya! That's exactly what I need to do. We've been busy at work so they bring food in- like pizza. And then I do what I tell people not to do-skip breakfast and let myself get really hungry. I keep gaining and loosing the same 2 pounds!
mnealtx 0 #67 January 31, 2005 I actually seem to be doing better skipping breakfast lately... I probably need to go back to tighter portion control and snacks mid-morning and afternoon... but I know what you mean about gaining/losing the same weight over and over!!Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. Breezejunky 0 #70 January 31, 2005 Welcome to the club Christina! I stayed the same over the weekend which is a testament to the calorie burning benefits of dancing! Survived a most fantastic wedding and only went up once to the buffet during Sunday's hangover brunch! So now it's time to bust ass and drop the stuff I gained during my cold last week! Still ahead of the game and haven't lost motivation! I'm going to see that 160 before summer! To those feeling a little discouraged at the slowness or the setbacks, remember: summer is coming whether you lose it fast or slow. If it takes you 5 months to lose 5 pounds then so be it. If you give up, then in 5 months....you won't have lost that 5 pounds! When you wander back over to this thread, you'll see those of us still plugging away and you may be surpised by the numbers and you'll think "geez they did that fast!" It just feels slow at the time. See you all Friday

See you all Friday Thank you for the welcome. I can't wait for it to get warm again so I can start using the pool. I think that'll help me lose weight too because I love being in the water and swimming. It's very energizing and I feel great afterwards. Not like having to get on that damn excercise bike that's soooo boring and hurts my butt. It's always been hardest for me to maintain after I lose weight. So this time I've been trying to do it slowly and make permanent changes. I'm tired of the yo-yo game. It's much more important to me this time that I find a way to stick to it for the long run not just loose the weight and go back to the "norm" and put it all back on again.
