pilotdave 0 #2 January 29, 2005 Well, I love firefox but I do find that I need IE every once in a while. I installed a "open this page in IE" extension so i can very quickly switch to it when i need it. But overall, firefox is soooo much better. Stacy 0 #3 January 29, 2005 I actually like thunderbird. It's jumk filters are trainable, and it will *learn* what you don't want in your inbox. It requests permission for just about anything suspicious and will only display images in info-mail if you click ok. I've gotten a LOT less junk since installing thunderbird. freeflir29 0 #4 January 29, 2005 I love my Mozilla for most surfing. However......you will still occasionally need the IE for certain pages. So.....leave it where you can still get to it.

In your opinion how does Thunderbird compare to Hotmail? Gone fishing
mnealtx 0 #6 January 29, 2005 Thunderbird is a replacement for Outlook/Exchange... so it's not really comparable, to my knowledge... I use Firefox and love it...and I'm downloading Tbird nowMike I love you, Shannon and Jim. POPS 9708 , SCR 14706

I'm not comparing it, I was asking how it compares to Hotmail. I happen to like Hotmail for personal mail thier junk filter is pretty good, in my non computer genius capacity. BASE813 0 #9 January 30, 2005 If you find some pages wont let you use your mozilla to view them, then you can get a user agent swticher for it (google it) - this will allow you to fool the pages you are using IE or any other browser you want. There are lots of handy addons for Mozilla.
popsjumper 2 #10 January 30, 2005 IE sucks and if i run into a page that actually REQUIRES it, I write the site off as: too-snobby-to-support, never-go-there. There is functionality available to IE users that isn't available to Mozilla/Firefox users right here. - Jim"Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. It 'fools' the remote web server into thinking that you are IE, but that doesn't do a thing for the browser that can't interpret code written specifically for MSIE. End result: you're still out of luck. - Jim"Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
Dougjumper 0 #13 January 31, 2005 Hotmail ...yep its better got the New 250MB Free Space on it now guess its trying to keep up with Yahoo. Support wouldnt update it for me from the original 2MB so I figured it out and updated it myself..it Works no Shit. As for IE...Faagit about it..only one reason to have I have Found and thats if you use updates. Firefox is Sweeeeetcan get Nice Skins for it as well. As John Wayne would say it "Throw that IE sun ..of..a ..B@#$* in the Trash..."

jose 0 #15 January 31, 2005 I am using Deepnet Explorer. So far I am happy with it. Is mozilla and the others somehow better?
GTAVercetti 0 #16 January 31, 2005 While you will find me to be a GIGANTIC proponent of Firefox (I am a web developer and standards are nice), I would still not get rid of IE completely. There are just too many sites which are made ONLY for IE. For instance, I watch music videos on Yahoo LAUNCH and that only supports IE or Netscape 4.x -- and who the hell used Netscape 4.x anymore? Firefox is my primary browser, but I still need IE sometimes. As for Thunderbird, I have only used it for RSS feeds and I liked it for that. Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

Dougjumper 0 #18 February 3, 2005 QuoteYou're confusing a mail SERVICE (Hotmail) with a mail PROGRAM (Thunderbird). Dont think so. Im speaking of the New Space available to Hotmail users using the Web based email service which it provides. Not the Email program (ThunderBird).
