funfall 0 #1 May 26, 2009 What is the "OSA" in harness measurement, and its significance? "Over the shoulder"? Search turned up nothing else useful. Can't reach our rigger for a few days. Thanks.
pilotdave 0 #2 May 26, 2009 I don't know, but it's in the "office use only" section so don't worry about it. Your measurements go below. Dave
funfall 0 #3 May 26, 2009 I see it in specs for some used containers, and new stock containers, but don't know what to make of it. Most seem to be OSA 0 or +1. I assume it affects proper fit. If I order custom, I won't be as concerned about it.
pilotdave 0 #4 May 26, 2009 Oh, in the stock list, it says that it means "over the shoulder extension." I still don't know what that means though. But if you want to order a stock rig, call them and talk about the size. Dave
hookitt 1 #5 May 26, 2009 +1 means the yoke is 1 inch longer on each end. The 3 ring will be 1 inch farther over the shoulder. Make sense? My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
klingeme 1 #6 May 27, 2009 The OSA is an extra inch per number +1= 1 extra inch, +2 =2 extra inches.... in the yoke. it is designed for people with larger chests to keep the tightness off the shoulders and to keep the 3 rings and chest strap in the proper postion (lower). Please call me (or Mike Maguire) at UPT if you need a further explaination. Mark Klingelhoefer United Parachute Technologies 386-736-7589
funfall 0 #7 May 27, 2009 Thanks all. So it's a yoke dimension, rather than harness.
klingeme 1 #8 May 27, 2009 QuoteThanks all. So it's a yoke dimension, rather than harness. Pretty much. There are slight changes to the harness, but it is mostly just a change in the yoke. Mark Klingelhoefer
