Slappie 9 #1 February 2, 2005 ...Generates Surprising Response QuoteWhen Nintendo advertised a bounty hunter position on Monster.com, they never expected the 90+ serious applications they would receive from ex-military and other frightening backgrounds. We spoke with Nintendo's Beth Llewelyn about the viral campaign, and the unexpected response it generated. Quote "The skills and experience these people listed went beyond surprising into the realm of frightening," Beth Llewelyn, Senior Director of Public Relations, NOA I would have loved to see the resumes!! "Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them." flyhi 24 #6 February 2, 2005 QuoteI thought that shit was only in the movies. Those four contractors who were burned and hung from the bridge in Iraq worked for Blackwater. I worked with people trained by Blackwater. They were very good at what they did.Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.
freeflir29 0 #7 February 3, 2005 QuoteNo amount of money is worth it. No doubt.........I was warned that working for Blackwater can be very hazardous to your health. I also heard a recent report that they were great to work for. Both people reporting have RATHER impressive resumes. *Shrug*

You've given hints about working in the region and having to go to training before hand. Let's hear the story from you. DexterBase 1 #9 February 3, 2005 Triple Canopy is another one to look at if you're interested in this type of work. www.triplecanopy.com
BlindBrick 0 #10 February 3, 2005 These companies pay real good. A former spec ops type working in a hot zone in Iraq can bring in over $1000 per day. Oddly enough, there an odd trend with mercs and international relief orgs. The IRO's have realized that private military companies can get into a hot zone faster and cheaper than the UN. They are also serving as security at relief camps and such. Which makes since since the Red Cross lost more personnel to hostile fire than most major militaries during the 1990's. -Blind"If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it." SkiD_PL8 0 #11 February 3, 2005 There anychance of getting a job with any of those companies without any military or police experience? I wanted to join the military but was unable to get any of the jobs I wanted because I am slightly color blind, and this seems like a great alternative. Greenie in training.
