Birthday gift... Full day sailboat rental @ $130.00.

Friend of mine recently married, and this weekend is his birthday - so I thought I could make it combination marriage/birthday gift that both he and his new wife could enjoy.

hmmmm, or am I just being a cheap mofo.... g :P

ya, he used to race sail boats, but he's been broke as of late (getting married, honeymoon in Europe, etc.) he hasn't been for quite some time. So I thought this would be very cool for him.

If you are good friends and if you were in NY/NJ/CT, $130 would definitely be a cheapo gift for a marriage/birthday (specially if you were at the wedding)
If you weren't invited to wedding, it's more than enough.

I've had about 4-5 weddings every year for the past few years. I was about to declare bankruptcy on that alone.:o[:/]

I did attend the wedding, it was in Ireland, and he is like a big brother to me. They asked me to wait to get them a gift till we got back to the States. I thought about getting some other small items (he wants the Hellboy DVD/loves Starbucks) specific for his birthday, plus the sailboat rental.

....cool, I think that's what I'll do.

Thanks, g

Wow, that is an interesting way to look at it. I would say it is more the quality of the gift than the price. I am sure that day on the sailboat will make them much happier than the 8 breadmakers they got at their wedding.

130 is a cheapo gift??? must be nice to have that kind of money! Oh wait, you want to declare bancruptcy because of your overly generous nature... wish i had more friends like you...
