AggieDave 6 #1 February 3, 2005 Last week I had posted talking about a pair of boots I was planning on saving to buy to wear at my wedding. Well some DZ.commers took it upon themselves to see to it that I get those boots and they wanted to give me something for my wedding. Frenchy68 Piisfish Darius11 Pleifer Jumper03 Skygeek Those folks chipped in and Frenchy sent me a check, so yesterday I was able to order the boots. Since my shoe size is "odd" (11 1/2 E/EE) and these are cutstom boots, it will take 4 weeks to be made over at Luchesse's shop in San Antonio. So in a few weeks I'll be posting some pictures. Never in my life has anyone outside of my immediate family done anything like this for me, to say I was speechless would definately be an understatement. I thought that in this world where people are perpetually screwing other people over (so it seems) that a classy act of kindness should definately be made publically known. Thank you! VanillaSkyGirl 6 #3 February 3, 2005 Frenchy is a REALLY cool person...a good guy, but he will be upset that I wrote that. I don't know anything about the boot situation, but it sounds like these people helped you with their kind and generous acts. How wonderful!
 AggieDave 6 #4 February 3, 2005 The boot situation is that I had finally found exactly the boots to wear with my tux so I was excited about them and posted about them. Frenchy and the other took it upon themselves to chip in and buy them for me as a wedding gift. It was going to take me atleast until summer to save up for them, since they're handmade Luchesse boots (nearly $400). What blows me away is I didn't ask, I didn't imply or hint, I just posted talking about them b/c I was excited. They thought it would be cool for a wedding gift to get them for me. Just like that. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." I have found quite a few dz.commers that are extremely generous in their words and friendship.Enjoy the boots and don't trip! My feet are so narrow, I have trouble finding ski boots to fit; If they are small enough to snugly hold my foot, my toes are banging into the front of the boot; If they are long enough, they are so big the buckles can't be tightened enough to hold the foot in place. So are these boots being made in a "standard" pattern E/EE, or are they being made to a pattern taken from your actual foot?"There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. They're not quite *that* custom, right now they're being made in the standard pattern, BUT if these boots don't fit right I can tell them to send them back and they'll take custom measurements for my feet. I already have a VERY custom pair of boots, they cost about $1000 and I only wore them for a year. (If you know anything about Texas and Texas A&M you'd understand). Luckily student loans covered those boots. That's me in May of 2001 at Boot Dance in Class A Midnights, I'm in the Zips-1 pic, back row middle right in Class Bravo summers.
