GeordieSkydiver 0 #1 February 4, 2005 Ok, so when I'm done in the miltary (6 more years) I'm 95% sure i'm gonna emigrate to the US of A, probably California. What I'm wondering is if it is worth it or feasable to buy some property over there now (I'm in England) and just rent it out. Has anyone got any expierence of this or any information I could use? Thanks in advance.Lee _______________________________ In a world full of people, only some want to fly, is that not crazy? http://www.ukskydiver.co.uk

Michele 1 #6 February 4, 2005 Quote Michele is a real estate agent in CA. I bet she could help you. I'd be more than happy to. Shoot me a pm, and we'll talk. As to the cost, the difference between renting it out (investment property) and personal living space is that if you're careful, the rent will cover the mortgage, and you will be able to have a renter pay the mortgage. Leverage is a great thing, especially considering the affordability index here at the moment... Like I said, I'll be more than happy to see what I can do for you. mr2mk1g 10 #9 February 4, 2005 Plus property cost in CA are a fraction of the UK regardless of the $/£ rate... you can get a hell of a lot of house there for the cost of what would be a small flat in the UK.

Actually, yes, for a variety of reasons I've been following land prices in general across the US for the past couple of months.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
