The craziest thing I've seen so far is someone put a primer can into the fire without most people noticing. Needless to say, about 10 minutes later, the can explodes. I probably jumped high enough to fully deployed a base canopy on the way down. I don't think I have ever seen that many people jump/scream in complete unison. I know, mine sucks but it's all I got. Brains 2 #6 February 8, 2005 I watched as our DZO was pouring avgas onto the pile of wood for the bonfire and here comes dz.commer christoofar with a lighter. Yup, flash and the dzo is running away with his fleece smoking, no hair left on his hands or face and very pissed off. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you. So, into the bonfire it went. Man, that was impressive. It had a full tank of gas, too. Luckily, they were smart enough to take off the gas cap so pressure wouldn't build. The gas would still boil, then shoot out the opening, and then the flame-thrower was going. They dropped it off at a salvage yard before dawn. livendive 8 #13 February 8, 2005 Besides an unbelievably large bonfire (the year we burned the remainder of Lodi's old hangar), I'm only coming up with one off the top of my head. Was visiting another DZ, to which a jumper had his new main shipped. Well he was out of town when it came in, so a certain jumper hooked it up in his own rig just so he could razz the guy about having put the first jump on it. He hooked it and swooped the bonfire, but had to lay out for one reason or another and the brand new canopy fell into it.
