Rebecca 0 #3 February 8, 2005 Hey! I've been right there! What an awesome experience for her -and she's soooo beautiful! (Do I detect a mischievous glint in her little eyes? Or am I just projecting myself again?) I'm definitely planning to show my offspring as much of Europe as I can while they're young. First though, I should probably get hitched and pregnant...in a few years... still having too much fun single and childless! Did she learn any Dutch? you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

GravityGirl 0 #7 February 8, 2005 No. I didn't take her INTO the coffee shops, but as she walked by she noted, "Mom, I like the smell of the insence in Amsterdam." Her Dad just rolled his eyes. At one point we were strolling along. I was busy looking the other way and she said, "Mom! That girl is naked!" I blurted out, "Oh. That's one of those Dutch lingere stores. I heard they had live models showing off their underwear." I was a lot more alert after that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! SpeedRacer 1 #13 February 9, 2005 when I went to Amsterdam, we visited Bruges, Belgium...There was a candy store there that had relief sculptures of scenes from the Kama Sutra, rendered in chocolate. GravityGirl 0 #16 February 9, 2005 It's really an awesome city. Most Americans associate it with partying. But even without that, there is so much to see and do. Even in the middle of winter. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
freefal 0 #17 February 9, 2005 I'm curious how old your girl is and how well she is with traveling. My wife and I have talked about taking a trip to Europe, and we would love to share it with our 2 yr old daughter, but we're just not sure how well she would do on a long trip like that. She generally travels really well, but we haven't decided if it would be more fun for just the two of us, or to make a familay vacation out of it. We also don't know if it would be better to wait a few years or do it sooner. If she ends up like her mom, her teenage years are going to be pretty rebellious, so I'd rather do it sooner than later. "Ignorance is bliss" and "Patience is a virtue"... So if you're stupid and don't mind waiting around for a while, I guess you can have a pretty good life! Deuce 1 #18 February 9, 2005 My girls were 7 when I took them to England this past summer, and I think that was about the perfect age. Much younger and they aren't likely to remember it, and like you said, when they are teenagers they will be trying to pick up boys.
GravityGirl 0 #19 February 9, 2005 Well. Jet isn't 4 yet and she has made the trek across the pond about 7 times now. I have taken her in my belly, as an infant, as a toddler and now as a hellian! There are tricks to the trade. Like how to set up her nap schedule in advance to limit jet lag. Feeding schedules. What seats to request. What foods to bring. In flight entertainment. What airlines to choose also helps. Simple things just make the trek a lot easier. This trip was really easy. We flew KLM on the 777. They have individual DVD systems loaded with cartoons, games and kids videos. She didn't even want out of her seat! PM me if you want. I've thought about writing a book or doing a travel show since I've travelled with my girl quite extensively! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
