outlawhottie 0 #1 February 9, 2005 one thing that really sux is having to wash one of these pigs. It's a great plane and I can't wiat until I get the chance to jump from one, but being a mechanic on one can suck. Just thought I'd share. That's how my day is going. Wet and cold at times because our CE unit is working on the hangar doors.
AggieDave 6 #2 February 9, 2005 You couldn't taxi it down to your local truck wash? See, that's why you should get done with college and get your commision...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
outlawhottie 0 #3 February 9, 2005 that'd sure be nice to taxi it to local truck wash. but it's not. i'll get my commission if i ever get to start school. the way things are going it'll be a while.
AggieDave 6 #4 February 9, 2005 You know, and I hate washing our 182 (which I've done more then a few times)...that only takes a couple of hours to do really well, atleast the c-130 isn't too much bigger then a 182.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." outlawhottie 0 #5 February 9, 2005 A 130 ttakes like 3-4 days. We also have to have it inspected afterward to make sure we didn't miss anything.

Does the C-130 have to wear its class A's for the inspection or can it where its BDU's? --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." champu 1 #8 February 9, 2005 hey, be happy, it could be a C-5.
outlawhottie 0 #9 February 9, 2005 You got a point there. I'd hate to wash a C-5 Or C-17. It has to wear it's BDU's. Which is an ugly shade of gray.

freeflir29 0 #14 February 10, 2005 Hehehehehehee...............once upon a time.......MANY years ago.......I was a Sheet Metal Mechanic on B-52's and KC-135's and a million other aircraft at Fairchild AFB, WA. I DID NOT envy those poor crew chiefs out there washing the planes while I drove by with my hot coffee and popcorn from their snack bar. Oh wait.........I DID have to go inspect the place and inventory the wash gear before they could roll the plane out. They hated me.......
