Dougjumper 0 #26 February 9, 2005 QuoteSTUDENT LOANS!!!! Great interest rates, you get it all in bulk so you can buy blocks of jumps for cheaper, and banks don't complain when you write them and ask if you can take out an extra 5K this year. Well, You must remember Student Loans must be paid back and you cant default on the Government so I don't recommend this at all. Keep Student Loans to an all Minimum because You Will have to PAY this Back Some Day and it Just Might Be A Bitch..
Ron 10 #27 February 9, 2005 While you are trying to be the next big star...don't forget your future. Invest in your future. Other than that live cheap. I was going to buy a new car this year...but I would rather not spend the 30 grand for the car I wanted. Please don't sell your future by using credit....You never win that."No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers,

If you have the chance to use a 401K or TSP, do it! That is tax-deferred. I tmay seem like less money in pocket now, but it is worth it later! I forgot to mention that even though I save part of my cash for skydiving trips and gear, I am always saving up a decent amount to buy some stock. I remember when I first started skydiving, everyone told me to use my credit card since I was out of cash. I did not. It may have taken a bit longer, but not being it debt is awesome. Credit is no way to go.Why yes, my license number is a palindrome. Thank you for noticing.

kristenmichie 0 #32 February 9, 2005 You are very right. It just seems that as I try to save for the future and things, its near impossible at this point. I seem to have plateaued with my money for the time being, and getting it up again is rough. Right now, I cant even think about buying a $3,000 car. I promise Im trying to save, its just hard. I shouldnt be complaining at my age anyways... We're here for a good time, not a long time.

Ron 10 #34 February 10, 2005 QuoteI shouldnt be complaining at my age anyways... How old are you? The sooner you can invest the less you have to invest later. This is one reason that I suggest investing any tax refund you get. I used to blow them as mad money, but I see it as a very simple way to invest now. Even if you just invest 20 bucks a mth...Its better than nothing.
