mouth 0 #1 February 14, 2005 You guys wouldn't believe how many of these kids are getting dozens of roses, stuffed animals so large they could carry the kids, huge heart shaped boxes of candy as well as expensive trinkets. happythoughts 0 #6 February 14, 2005 Think of it as training wheels for dating. If you talk with them about it and they get an experienced opinion, it can help them sort out the emotions. It all happens eventually, better to have some information from another place than just 13yo friends.

peregrinerose 0 #8 February 14, 2005 QuoteMy thing is what do these kids know about love and where the heck do they get the money to do all this crap? They don't know anything about love, and in hindsight they will find that out. Just the way all of us old farts found out the difference between puppy love and the real thing and all of us were in 'love' at some point as 13-14 year olds. mouth 0 #9 February 14, 2005 So are the parents paying for all this? Roses aren't cheap these days especially on Valentines Day. I agree they will learn but then what do they have to look forward to? If they've already gotten used to getting a dozen roses and all the candy and stuff how are they going to make that comparison between the puppy love and the real thing. -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit. Dunno who buys, ask the parents. Personally, I wouldn't be shelling out cash for that, but I'm not all other parents in the world. It's easy to make the comparison between puppy love and the real thing... the real thing doesn't need roses and candy and stuffed animals, the real thing needs nothing at all to celebrate Vtine's day because you know you are loved full time, not just one day a year.
