haniel32 0 #1 February 17, 2005 Does anyone know what I could use to write on glass permanently? Here is the situation, I have a lighted message board and I want to write sone stuff on there permanently. The problem I am faced with is that every time I want to erase what I have writen EVERYTHING goes. I want some stuff to stay. Does anyone have any suggestions?? (Permanent Markers do not work. A little windex and it's gone.) Thanks for the help

LaDonna 0 #6 February 17, 2005 Etching material is permanent. check with your local art supply store, it is a little dangerous to use, highly caustic. FGF#
Buried 0 #7 February 17, 2005 hmm. well there has to be something.. maybe a more metalic based paint. I couldn't see why you couldn't use something and then throw a sealer over it Where is my fizzy-lifting drink?
JohnRich 4 #8 February 17, 2005 A label maker machine with clear label tape? Print out what you want, and stick it on the glass.

SkiD_PL8 0 #10 February 17, 2005 When I worked at a motorcycle dealership we used strips of vinyl for the lines and had vinyl lettering for our names. It however was made in the shop on our decal machine and I don't know where you can get that stuff otherwise. Greenie in training.

masterrig 1 #12 February 17, 2005 Check with your local sign co. As was suggested earlier in this post, they can make up what you want in vinyl and the finished product can be applied to the glass. Chuck
nacmacfeegle 0 #13 February 18, 2005 Vinyl is one solution, but can you remove the glass, write (or use stickers etc ) the permanent stuff on one side, and then the temporary stuff on the other? Have a look at chinagraph pencils for the wipe off side too. Dunno if that will work for you, just an alternative crazy assed idea over coffee.-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me.
