Slappie 9 #6 February 18, 2005 I've chosen April 4th to be my first smoke free day. Since my birthday is April 2 I'm going to drink like a viking all weekend. Then Monday morning I'll go smoke free. It's my gift to myself. That and I promised my dad who smoked for some 50+ years I'd quit. He himself quit last March due to a stroke. So he's all happy for me. alanab 0 #12 February 18, 2005 Quotetell 'em what made you finally QUIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she wants me to tell you the story..... i had wanted to quit for a long time... but i needed that last "thing" to push me to do it. so, justi and i were on our way back to school from the dz on sept 18th, and we had to stop to get gas. she pumped gas while i ran inside to buy a pack of smokes. little did i know there would be a 20 minute line wrapping around the inside of the gas station to check out. i quickly decided to quit right then and went back outside with no cigs to share my news with justi! Rebecca 0 #15 February 18, 2005 Hooray for you!!! It's the best thing you could do for yourself - especially while you're still so young! It's been 17 months + 1 week for me now, and it was WORTH IT!!! (My story: didn't want to enter 30's as smoker. New Year's day of 29th year, promised self to quit by birthday. Sept. 10, 6 days prior to said event, smoked arse off, woke feeling like utter shit, stopped right then, cold turkey. Didn't look back. Entered 30's the next year as non-smoker.) Congrats chicka! Keep it up! you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

Amazon 7 #19 February 18, 2005 WOO HOO.... Good on you little sistah... I quit smoking way before you were born... and like you said.. the smell really is bad when you do get around smokers. when you go to places with smokers your clothes stink... hair stinks.. BUT in the long run though you will be healthier and will age far slower than most of those friends who smoke
 Taylor610 0 #20 February 18, 2005 Congrats girl! One day she was working at the theater that she & my stepdad used to run. There were NO lighters or matches ANYWHERE in her office that day. She was going downstairs to light her cigs on the stove on the first floor. she decided it was too much of a PITA & quit right then. That was over 25 years ago & she never started again!
