Feeblemind 1 #1 February 19, 2005 Wow, Being new to the sport am I ever overwhelmed!! The learning curve is very steep (worlds greatest understatement) and it seems everone has an opinion on everything. Today I had kind of a meltdown (it was raining so no jumping, so of course I dove into gear stuff). I have talked to a good friend that introduced me to sky divng, a trusted female friend whom sells gear, my instructor (of Course) and several others. All I have succesufully done is imputed a bunch of data my infant skydiving mind cannot digest. I have come to the conclusion to use common sense and take my own advise, "listen to your instructor!!" My plan is to jump rental gear until my container is in (no short fire plug body styles were available on the used market) then I will demo 9 cell canopies. Sorry just needed to vent and don't want the wife pissed off cause she will cut of my funds and sex Okies frustration vented, Phil Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked

Feeblemind 1 #5 February 19, 2005 Thanks JP, but your the one that started all this!!!! If you would not have taken me on that damn tandem I wouldn't be in this delima!! As it is right now I am going to jump my rental gear and wait till my container is built. By the time it arrives I hope to have my "A" and have flown a few different canopy types. I am leaning towards the 9 cell due to the flatter glid slope. I have a bad wheel and would rather PLF at decreased glide slope than and more severe one taking a harder impact on my knees. Most of all I will listen to my instructor as I said before. He has over 7200 Jumps and knows me the best in this world. I chose Eddie for his experience and knowledge, so I will continue to seek his advise in my canopy selection. Thanks for the offer JP and I will drop you a line. My daughter has a cheerleading competition at Disney Land (kids playing, why can't dad?) so hopefully I can swing in for a jump or 2.
