I am smart enought not to fully trust the young kid who's telling me he has a over a thousand.... but these old timers that tell me they gave up counting after a few grand got me wondering just what is a believable number. any help out there guys and gals???I just am................ Peej 0 #5 January 24, 2005 When i asked Fritz Pfnur from the Flyboys he had like 10 000. I asked him if he still bothers logging and said no, he gave up a while back i'm sure there are dudes out there with even more though... bbarnhouse 0 #7 January 24, 2005 Craig Girard 18,000+ same for Dan B.C. Omar Alhegelan has 14,000+ There are lots of folks with numbers such as these...and I wouldn't call being 40 an old timer unless of course you were referring to time in the sport. Faber 0 #8 January 24, 2005 i only know 1 hardcore jump and i dunno how many jumps he has... the Q should not be how many jumps a person can,but rather can he/she their stuff.. i know people whith 2000+ jumps doing hopsn pops all the time, would i make a headdown or RW jump whith them? perhaps but not in a group.. i do belive that thouse above listed can their stuff, this post were just to flip the coin Me, i have 600+ skydives(guess as i stopped counting at 550ish),i keep an acurate BASE log through.. counting objects, offheaddings etc. Stay safe Stefan Faber

General - For whuffos, just tell them you have about 750. It sounds like a lot (it isn't) so they'll be impressed (if they're shallow that way), but it's still believable enough. ... YahooLV 0 #13 January 24, 2005 Add Jim Wallace to that well graced list. 18,000+ I jump with him often and have NEVER seen anyone having so much fun! (a relatively good flyer, ok on landings. Don't ask him to swoop!) With his yellow jumpsuit, he earned the nickname "Banana Split"http://www.curtisglennphotography.com
brits17 0 #14 January 24, 2005 QuoteI am smart enought not to fully trust the young kid who's telling me he has a over a thousand.... Oh come on now... there's plenty of young uns with hearty jump #s. A funny instance was when i was doing a coaching jump with a gentleman 3x my age (I was 19 at the time) and as manifest introduced us, his eyes got real wide and gasped "you're my coach?!" I laughed and said yes (I didn't look over 16). The jump went great, and so goes the story. But there's plenty of jumpers much younger and experienced than I. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
AggieDave 6 #15 January 24, 2005 QuoteBut there's plenty of jumpers much younger and experienced than I. Hell, Jeff Mullins is 18 and has 4500 jumps or so. Before I grew my beard out (I look a LOT younger without facial hair) I'd get comments from people like what you got when I introduced myself as their tandem instructor. With that said, I'm what I would consider an "average" jump number sort of guy, everyone has 1400 jumps or so.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." tbrown 26 #20 January 24, 2005 QuoteAdd Jim Wallace to that well graced list. 18,000+ I jump with him often and have NEVER seen anyone having so much fun! According to the January issue of Parachutist, Jim Wallace just got USPA awards for 28,000 jumps and 280 hours of freefall time. He's so far ahead they have to make up names for his awards, I think this one was the "double hepta rasberry wings with penta cherries on top", or something like that. And since awards always take a little time in the pipeline, especially when you have to invent new ones, you can bet he's probably got a thousand or so more by now. I've read somewhere that he has the third highest number of jumps and the No. 1 most freefall time in the entire world. Jim is one of the most gracious, respected, friendliest, knowledgeable, generous, and just plain fantastic people in all of skydiving. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !
