slotperfect 7 #1 February 21, 2005 I would have been able to attend this incredible concert. What a lineup! Instead, I settled for Blue Oyster Cult in Bangor, Maine in 1982 as my first concert. Aldo Nova was the opening act (how you like dat dere, Remi? ). The best concert I have ever seen was Chicago in 1999. It was the best, the longest, and Little River Band was the opener - another fave from my teen years.Arrive Safely John
AggieDave 6 #2 February 21, 2005 That would have been a kickass concert! Too bad I was born in 1980.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
slotperfect 7 #3 February 21, 2005 I bet there are some "seasoned" Perris and Elsinore jumpers that post here in the forums that may have attended that concert. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?Arrive Safely John
sid 1 #4 February 21, 2005 I attended one in Chatham (just outside of London) back in (around) 1968 when I was about 14. It featured..... Eire Apparent Amen Corner The Nice (later ELP) Pink Floyd (with a comatose Syd Barrett) The Move (later ELO and Roy Wood's Wizzard) The Jimi Hendrix Experience I vaguely remember (hey it was the 60's) there was another opening band too. If you doubt this concert tour it is mentioned in the Pink Floyd Biography "Saucerful of Secrets"Pete Draper, Just because my life plan is written on the back of a Hooter's Napkin, it's still a life plan.... right? I was born in 1983 and I've seen: Lynyrd Skynyrd REO Speedwagon (2 times) Styx (3 times) Ted Nugent (3 times) Bad Company (2 times) Night Ranger Foreigner Deep Purple (2 times) Cheap Trick (2 times) Journey (2 times, neither with steve perry , they still kicked ass though) The Doors (no Jim Morrison obviously, but they still sounded great) Kansas (2 times) ZZ Top Scorpions Eddie Money Edgar Winter (2 times) Peter Frampton (2 times) Aerosmith There are so many concerts I wish I could have seen... BOC would be great, but I'd kill to see SRV Live.
Dougiefresh 0 #6 February 21, 2005 You lucky ducky bastard. Jealousy has set in. Floyd AND Hendrix? man oh man.Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
jceman 1 #7 February 21, 2005 Been there, done that. Just don't ask me any details. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?
BillyVance 35 #8 February 21, 2005 Yes, despite my life-long deafness, I've been to a few concerts. I don't even need the hearing aid, just feel it. I saw: The Ramones (good one at my college) Debbie Gibson (at my college too, I was bored!) Van Halen (with Sammy Hagar) AC/DC (best show of all!) Def Leppard (sounded great at the amphitheatre)"Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
akarunway 1 #9 February 21, 2005 I was there. The food fight at the end was a riot. I hold it true, whate'er befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.
