Another computer question

Recommended Posts

Yup, got a question for my geeky friends.

I have Webbroot Spy Sweeper. I update and sweep everyday. Naturally it always finds something. I delete them and go on my merry way. When I start up my computer the Spy Sweeper gives me an alert.

It's asking me if it's okay for UserFaultCheck to be allowed. I click on the "more details" and it gives me

Product Name is not provided

Company name is not provided

Cpyright information is not provided

Now I'm not the smartest person when it comes to computers, but I do know that isn't good. So, I did a search on "UserFaultCheck" and came up with some information that has now really confused me.

Since I have not downloaded anything I'm just going to continue to hit "delete" when my computer starts up.

Some days I miss the old questions: :(

Which one is the any key?
The power's out, why can't I print?
My drink holder broke.

Those were easy and funny. :D

How long has it been doing this? When did it start?

Any updates to windows or any other spyware, antivirus, or firewall programs? Make sure you have all the updates. The Windows auto update doesn't get the non security updates and patches, so go there and do an advanced update. In fact update all of your programs manually.

Please note, I've only highlighed the items that you lost me on.

I have Windows but don't know how to update.

I have a firewall, but I don't dare touch that.

I'm sorry, I thought this was a simple answer or else I would never have posted the question.

Jen, why don't you call me on my home phone later tonight when you get free minutes on your cell.

[British voice] And the dance of the two geeks is over, the one being victorious by not geek speaking. The other is now left to go back to his Cheetos and Buffy the Vampire Slayer DVD's. [/British voice]

10 seconds until the Alias comment... :)

I cleared my cookies, shut off the computer, and ate dinner. Started the computer up and I didn't get that alert. I am up to date on my updates for windows and my firewall.

Thanks for trying to help:)
